I believe it was Project Entropia where a virtual island sold for US$26,500.

My only thing is for an island to be sold at $26,500 is that the person who bought that, would have it for life, not on a rental basis. That's my only guess, otherwise I wouldn't waste my time.
Then again, I don't know the entire story behind the ordeal. _____________________

Then again, I don't know the entire story behind the ordeal. IIRC, that game only releases land sporadically, and this guy would have the right to resell portions of his island over time. The list value of that land is over $32,000. I think he also has the treasure, or mineral, rights to the land. _____________________
