I'm seriously considering moving to a liquid cooling system for my pc. In the place I live, there's no Air Conditioning, barely enough air ventalation, with low humidity. As summer comes, overheating is a constantly worrysome. I was looking at a Koolance complete water system which comes around $500 or so.
Suggestions?

If you want to totally geek out and get something that you'll be the first kid on the block to have, try making a custom case and immerse all the electrical components in Sapphire . The difficult part will be trying to figure out how to have the motherboard and graphics cards immersed, but having other things like power, USB ports, etc be accessible from outside the case, but not have the case itself leak.

The only reason you would need a liquid cooling kit is if you plan on overclocking your computer. As long as your cpu isn't overheating and a bunch of weird shit is happening you don't need it.

Its not a matter of overclocking, the temperatures get way too high to high for keeping things running constantly as they are. Really the only thing thats making the machine so hot is the video card. But I do live in an area where it gets extremely high temperatures. (semi desert conditions). Which are harsh on PCs. I don't overclock the CPU or the GPU either. But it just naturally overheats because of the conditions its in. Comes extremely close every summer of doing just that.

Maybe this is a bit too obvious, but if you are looking at $500 cooling systems - why not buy a $90 single room window air conditioner? It would cost like $50/yr to run. Plus you get the added bonus of AC. Sears AC Kilowatt Hrs. per Year 530

Well thats been an idea, but the cooling systems are more concentrated in the parts where its most needed. $50/year ain't bad. Is that the electricity costs or otherwise?
