Effective the end of tomorrow (Friday), I regret that I'll be dismantling The Mushroom Kingdom indefinitely. I want to thank all of you who have contributed with kind words of encouragement as well as your effort and hard work. It is a truly unique place in SL and it was made so only through the great friends I have. However, I can no longer afford the land-use tier and am rapidly running out of energy for my endeavors. I know that's something we can all relate to. Second Life has been a unique experience for me and I'll always remember it as the tool that taught me that 3D modeling doesn't have to be an arduous chore. I get to build and socialize. Pretty sweet. While I'll be tiering down to "free", I won't disappear entirely. I'll keep tabs on SL and will, perhaps, return after a few more revisions and check the place out. As for my group, The Spinning Invaders, I'm going to turn that over to JediBorg Wishbringer, who's shown nothing but consistent interest in what we do on the property. It will fall to he and Michael Heiden to finish up that Koopa Stomp . Good luck guys. The land itself will be turned over to Salazar Jack, who donated a good chunk of the land I have. He says he'll expand the forest. I'm sure it'll only add to the cool factor of Davenport. You guys rock. It's not goodbye, but it's see-ya for now.

Ahhh Man!
I regret i didn't visit your build sooner!
I'm sorry to hear your scaling back Goodwrench. I hope you save as much as you can in inventory so you can re-do things in the future.
Sal will is a good steward so the land will be taken care of.
Be well my friend, see ya for now.

Sorry to hear this Goodwrench. Mushroom kingdom was such a cool idea! Hope you're able to come back full force later on, and I'm glad to hear you're not leaving. Good luck and see you around

I am sorry to see the Mushroom Kingdom go. It is truly a sight to behold.
I hope you do something equally cool in the future. Enjoy your untethered second life in the meantime. See what you've been missing.

This really sucks I had the scripting for the warp pipes done for when you planned on converting the property to no fly, the moving platforms all debugged and ready for deployment and several other projects in the works that really could've brought more life to the property. The Mushroom Kingdom was the first place in SL to really inspire me and I'll be very sad to see it go...

I recently came across that place by accident. I noticed the walls right away and was blown away by the techno versions of Metroid, SMB, and Zelda playing Happy to have seen it. Sorry to see it go. Sincerely, BlueMan

Salazar Jack has graciously offered to host the land for The Spinning Invaders, the plan being that he'll work with JediBorg to try and get people to offer land from their tier to help support the Kingdom. Thanks so much to Salazar for displaying what is just so cool about this community (and why I won't stay away forever). The Kingdom shall live, for now.

Mushroom Kingdom is THE BEST PLACE!!! I've loved it from day one!
If your group ever needs sound help, I've got a library of NES NSFs. I'd love to help keep it going!

Goodwrench Grayson just transferred the land off the Mushroom Kingdom to me and made me a member of the Spinning Invaders group. I have set the land to the group so that activities can continue until such a time that I can contact JediBorg and the other group members about finding a way to allow the Kingdom to persist in some way that is more group supported.
I will be scarce for the next week or so inworld, but would love to hear everyone's ideas about possibilities to make this happen. Perhaps having the land group-owned and supported by group tier contributions? The land measures 8704 sq.m., so we would need approx. 17 people to contribute 512 sq. m. each or 34 contributing 256 sq. m. each, etc. for the land to sustain itself. Everyone's tier contribution would go 10% farther if the land was group owned, so the actual numbers would be a bit lower.
Anyway, no hurry. Let's take some time and see what we can do to make this happen.
Salazar
