I have seen some things about it, but am not sure. Is this a Linden IRQ Chanel, and is it open for anyone?

That would be IRC, actually, and no, it's not linden-owned or anything. It's just a place people go to hang out and talk about SL, particularly when SL is down

Yes. I made it that way. I do a lot my my scripting in the middle, so I need open space.

Sorry, can't help you there. I use the old classic mIRC, no idea how (or even if) trillian can works for IRC.

As Rei said, the channel is not Linden run, its user run.

Its #secondlife on EFNet.

I forget how to do the link thing that you can click and it'll pop open whatever.

Cristiano has a java chat interface thingie for the #secondlife IRC channel on his www.SLUniverse.com site. The link is along the left side of the page under the Community section. This allows you to bypass using an IRC client.

If you have Firefox, you can use ChatZilla. It works well.

I mean embedded as in no one can get to them. They are IN the wall. I only knew they were there because of the floating text.

It's an IRC channel I started during some downtime around the time 1.2 came out, when Nala was doing the "24 hours of 1.2" radio broadcast. There is no Linden affiliation in any way, it's not run by the Lindens, and those that do show up are there mainly as users of SL.

But yes, anyone can join given the options presented here in this thread.

To connect with Trillian:

1. Go into Connection Manager under the IRC option.
2. In the list box, open up the EFnet folder and find a server to connect to. (You may have to try a few different ones)
3. Enter nickname and maybe other settings on right right.
4. Once you connect, right-click on the grey circle on the Trillian window and click "Join Channel..."
5. Type in #secondlife then click OK and if all goes well you'll join the channel.
