Lemme get this straight... (rant checking)

Okay. I've been gone the last few days, but what I've seen in the last ten minutes sounds like this...

Root Causes:
- LindenLabs is lowering event fees and stipends.
- Top Picks tab to renamed "Featured" and listings sold.

Responses:
- Usual pedantic whinings of "LL should give us more play money."
"OH HELLLL NO!!! IF I CAN'T MAKE MONEY HOLDING EVENTS ON MY SECONDS-PER-FRAME CLUB THEN I'LL LEAVE SL FOR EVER AND EVER!"
"This'll totally tank a virtual economy! I make a whole nickel a month by trading my L$ on GOM! If they do this then I'll leave forever!" (Yes, proper caps on that one)

Right? I'm not actually going to read an 8-page thread on how this is bad. (see: another 'Burke' on a messageboard called FuckedCompany) Here's the deal, and I'm going to go ahead and lay this down, and let you little monkeys take to my troll like a crack addict on salt-lick-sized peice of uncut rock. (fitting analogy)

My Two Cents:
- If you're running events just for support money, and because the losers that show up are coming JUST BECAUSE they might make money. Is it really worth holding? Are you sure you don't need to think of something more original?
- Yes, a lowered stipend means that there will be a change in the 'economic balance'. Some jerks will raise prices, others will lower them. Who will get more money? The ones that charge less.
- To be honest, I think we need to simply charge more for a 'featured' option in the Places tab, and maybe add more items to the Top Picks. I visited the Particle Lab this morning because I saw it in the Top Picks tab. We need more stuff like this.
- If people aren't showing up to the clone-club/mall/bingo, there's a reason. Maybe it's not as cool as the person right next door, or maybe it just sucks. Make something original and worth visiting, or shut up.
- Also, to be honest, even if it's out of "beta", it still runs as if it's alpha. LL has a long way to go. They're the current top centender for "The Metaverse", and if they don't start improving, they'll fail. But that's for them to realize, and a seperate rant. If you want help, hire me as a consultant.

I'm off SL for 2 weeks and I can't even read anything remotely intelligent on these forums, due to the spamming of whiny bitchy threads about this change. People need to worry about more important things in life.

Hmmm. Ratings will cost more. That I can understand. I think L$25 when they're reducing the bonus is a tad steep. L$5 or L$10 I can understand. But you're really not supposed to rate everyone you see coming by. I already don't. But that's because half the time I can't f'ing find them after they rate me. (come stand in front of me or something)

Yes, it looks like things are getting pretty stupid at LL. I'll be tendering my resume and offering my services as Common Sense/Donut Runner Guy. Granted, they'd have to pay my relocating costs and hook me up with a decent computer, but I'll set them on the right path.
