Just wondering... with all this talk of the linden dollar tanking, Im' wondering... would it be possible to set up another currency, in-world? Minted by fellow players?

ATITD does it.. but then they don't have an official currency.

Good thought experiment, eh :) discuss.

Competing currencies? Good recipe for confusion and wastage -- at least it was in the real world until currency was largely standardized, beginning in the nineteenth century.

Now, standardized inworld credit -- there's a necessary innovation.

Read my article on Value, Money, and Markets and you'll see where I point out that the only reason the L$ has value in the minds of SL residents is because we trust the Lindens to manage and control the distribution of those bits stored somewhere on a hard drive in LL's datacenter.

Unless you can find someone who can garner the trust of as wide a swath of the SL community, there ain't gonna be no competing currencies.

Well, *I* like this idea. I think if enough retailers accept the currency, it'd work.

So as to avoid confusion with the US 'buck' and the Linden 'Linden Buck', I suggest we call yours the 'F-uck'

How much is that that sex ball? That will be 50 F-ucks thank you..

Who gives a F-uck? You do :P

Siggy.

Call it the Cherub.
100 Cherubs = 1 Seraph
100 Seraphs = 1 Archangel
