Here is a fair question or two for a Linden

If the title of this forum is:

A place for all the talk that REALLY doesn't belong anywhere else. THIS IS A MATURE FORUM

Why are there any, and I mean ANY rules?
Does the title not say enough?
Is this not fair warning to those that enter that they can not only anticipate but *expect*:

Lewdness
Rudeness
Crudeness
and all of the talk that doesnt belong anywhere else?

It doesnt specify "talk that doesnt belong anywhere else on these forums".

It doesnt specify "talk that cannot infringe on the TOS".

In fact, to me it expressly implies this is a free for all type forum.
Why would posts be edited?
Why would posts be removed?
Why would people be banned?


Honestly, this seems like nothing more than a place to spam curse words. Nothing more.

It appears as though no opinions are allowed that might anger or insult someone.

Doesnt the very forum title say that this is where you will FIND all of the talk that DOESNT belong anywhere else?

Can we get some OFFICIAL LINDEN CLARIFICATION on what EXACTLY the point of this forum is other than getting away with being a potty mouth?

If this is nothing more than a place to rattle off the words you would get into trouble for posting on a PG forum, then say so.

The rest of us can go back to NOT participating in the forums due to the lack of free and unfettered expression of speech as implied by the Forum Title.

Don't forget the dirty, dirty sex talk. >:) That and everything else people talk about here really opens my eyes to what SLers are like behind the masks. They are usually so reserved about these things on the forums!

Thus far, it appears they are taking a fully hands off approach, as long as the posts do not enter the territory of hate speech. That is a pretty wide swath of open discussion, as long as you steer clear of openly inpuning someone's race, religion, sexuality, or other things that fall under that little hate speech category. From what I have seen, only one post has been edited, and there was never a post more in need of editing, even in a free for all forum like this.

Ok, Everyone remember this for the next time she has any other sort of question. Even if you know the answer and can trouble shoot her problem, let her wait for the lindens to respond. (particularly if it's a tech question that is keeping her off of SL)

This is a forum idiot, if you only want the Lindens to reply, then you e-mail them. When you post in a forum, everyone can put in their 2 cents. By asking a question in a forum you are inviting everyone with a handle to give you an answer.

Holy, although LL has probably one of the best reputations for customer support, they do not regularly respond to the forums. They do appear to read the forums regularly, but they rarely respond here.

If you require your questions to be answered by a Linden only, then I recommend you email [email]support@secondlife.com[/email] or contact one in-world, as you will be far more likely to get their attention in those methods of communication than on the forums.

My hunch is that Holy Grace is Christoper Nomad...

Name, content, mood, type style.... Just a hunch though....

I know Holly and know someone who knows her personally in rl. She's not Christopher, although, with the timing, I can see why that might be assumed.

And Holly, people are not trying to attack you here. I think an assumption was made that you would know that the Lindens rarely respond to being asked direct questions in forums. I think they want to keep up an air of impartiality. They'd be much more likely to respond in game or through email if you go to them directly. You can always relay their answer here.

She is somewhat new peeps, and isn't aware of the Lindens and forums, so a little slack is warranted.

With all this said, Holly, I think you may have indeed gotten a rare answer, just not here. Daniel's post about TOS applying to these forums also was probably at least partially in response to your query.

Well, I trust you greatly Onei, so I retract my assumption. Yes, the timing is a big factor I think. Equally moreso with the seeming disapearence of Christopher from the forums.

Yeah I was going to say the same thing , Holy Grace and Holly Grace are seperate people.

I know Holly Grace in RL .. lol been trying to get her to read the forums , but as of yet she hasn't been in here. If anyone seens holly in world say hi , she's got this deal about not wearing shoes. I think she is trying to start some new fashion trend or something hahah.
