I have been searching the forums for user experience on the best security systems. and have found little beyond discussions about what is bad about certain (and unnamed) security systems. I need one that works on group land and basically preserves privacy. I want one that will eject people rather than sending them home or forcing them to relog. Really just something to say "mine" or "private" without being too agressive.
I would be appreciative of any recommendations.

Cutter & had one on the island, first was one by Psyke Phaeton(sp). I know Cutter either upgraded or changed systems tho. I'm sure he'll be happy to tell you what he's currently using. I saw one the other day... I was out exploring and landed on an island when I got the message... " you have 10 seconds to leave the property........" Dunno who it was madeby tho...didn't have time to look. LOL

You can set land to be no entry except for group members, and those on a list. It surrounds your land with a red "no entry" barrier and can't be entered or landed on. People can still hover over it though.

People can still hover over it though. And the price is right! If you're going to get a security script anyway, please please please do the following: Set it so it gives at least 10 seconds of warning to passerby before taking action. If you have a very large plot to protect, the time needs to be longer. If the script can identify itself, please mention the name of your plot, it makes it easier to leave the area if you know what the area is. Adjust the sensor range to cover the area your securing only, don't expand it all the way out. (both for avoiding lag and to make sure it's not annoying others.) Do not use push. This will get you abuse reported. Do not use teleport home. Save this for repeat greifer types only.

Yes, yes, please don't set the range up very high, either, if a security system is used; it's annoying to no end to be flying over a plot in a Cubey Terra plane, only to be sucked out of it by a security script that was set too high. One no copy vehicle gone, and one upset resident ensues. Of course, I'm still a proponent of uasing the land tools; they're free, plus they extend to a height that makes hearing conversation (apart from shouts) impossible, and makes peeping with the build camera hard, without screwing up people that are simply commuting.

Indeed, indeed, just using an example. But enough with this threadjack. Lee wanted to know the best security systems. I gave my opinion, now I'm just rambling.

Thank you for all the replies. I never thought I would get so many so fast. I guess the upgade is driving people to the forums.
The land protections are nice for stuff on the ground but do little for camera intrusions and nothing for stuff up in the "no clutter zone". I appreciate all the advice on making the script neutral for commuters and people out exploring - I don't want the script to bother people passing through.
I am mainly looking for product recommendations as I don't want to spend few thousand trying different things out. Ease of use, appropriate and resonable protection is what I am after.
Thanks in advance,
Lee

/invalid_link.htmlThis was a security system I made to be an in between of all the pros and cons of the existing systems. This one however must have someone tell it what to do.

Well, i prefer Psyche Phaeton's system. Easy to use, does the job. And it can be networked to cover large areas. I have it set up to work in two sims, and they communicate just fine. I have it at a 15 sec warning before eject, and i only use it on banned offenders, so from a privacy point of view i have no idea what is best. But Psyche's is great, without doubt. You can specify multiple operators, targets and change all kinds of settings to have it set up the way you want.

You know we still have mini maps, right? They're free and everything, all you have to do is pay attention... Most security systems are just obnoxious push scripts, that will get you abuse reported, and plus, there's really nothing you can do about people using their camera controls to look around your property, all they have to do is stand right outside your property lines... Generally, simple things like turning door scripts off will keep people out of your hair, and you can always manually kick people out of your property. Or ban the more annoying individuals. And of course the big red bars are a good choice, but I for one, tend to get curious of what might be behind them

I heartily agree! I've been booted from my plane more times than I can count. And I can count past a hunnert! (BTW, my vehicles are always copyable for just this reason. As Jillian has said, SL eats vehicles. ) Suggestion to Lee Archer: make the security system turn itself off when the owners aren't around, otherwise it's just yet another hostile script in an empty no-mans-land of security scripts.

I just need a system that can force-tp a person home on command, then start force tp'ing home people on a list.
I'd also like the opton to clear out everyone EXCEPT authorized people. (A few situations have come up where someone says something, some gets offended, next thing I know everyone is blasting eachother across the room with pushguns.)
