Clara Ampitheatre?

Hi folks, I've long owned the land in the NW corner of Clara, and on some old maps, I see reference to the Clara Ampitheater, right where I now have property.

I've decided to do somethign big with my property, and re-create it. Unfortunately, I wasn't on back then, so I have no idea what to do.

Do any of you old-timers have any pictures of it, or at the very least could you give me a description of it, back when it was in Clara?

Sorry man, I have no idea what you are talking about. Sounds cool though.

I may have some old pictures, somewhere...however, you need to realize, the amp was across two sims. Clara, and the sim that borders it...name escapes me right now. It was quite large...I doubt you own all the land it sat on.

a smaller version sitting in clara with a few pictures and description of the original would be cool for newbies to see.

That was the Lindens' "big stage" way back when. I don't have any pictures of that one, but I do of the duplicate that was put up in Teal last year. In any case, I'm sure the parts are still lying around in one of the Lindens' inventories. In terms of style, it has since been surpassed many times over by resident-created stages.

Well, truth be told I have about 16000m2 in Clara, and even if I (still) can't fit it in my space, Luskwood owns the land across the border in Perry, and I'm willing to bet that eltee would be willing to help me recreate something like this.

And if nothing else, I'd like to use it as inspiration.

Yeah that place was huge back in the day. Was a great meeting place I remember manyhours LAGGED to death but enjoying the events held there.

Unfortunately all the pictures I have from that era were lost in the Great Shadow Bug invasion of my PC in March 2004 so alas all those pictures lost.

Ditto to all of the above, Alek. Except, I don't remember it spanning a boundary. I thought it was all in Clara. Either way it was big, and ugly.

It happens that I have copies of some of the actual Clara Amphi prims (some of them weren't set to 'no copy'). Don't know how many offhand, but I'll check it out next time I'm iw. And of course, I'll send you copies of them if permissions allow.

I had played with the idea of snatching up that land and rebuilding it, back when the land went public. But it would have eaten up most of my allocation.

Pretty sure I don't have any pics, but it was a very generic design. If you've ever seen a RL amphitheatre, you've seen that one too. The steps were a sweeping curve of concrete, with very simple bench seating. If memory serves, the stage and its awning were sort of Kelly-green. And there were spotlights on poles. Did I mention it was big?

Well, some people have been generous enough to supply me with prims from the original Amphitheatre, but I still need some good pictures of it. Anyone else got any?

I definitely have a few pictures of it, but they're not so crash hot... back in the day we thought it would be a permanent fixture... so we weren't all excited to take pictures of the amphitheater itself. I have pictures of a few friends sitting there or the av contests or something...
When I was a noobie I was always at the amphitheater, so it has a special place in my heart.
Perhaps we could get some linden to help out here?

Hey neighbor! I have a shot of old Clara from the pre 1.2 days. The ampetheatre is clearly visible in the shot.

OMG Clara was so cute back then No wonder I chose it as my first land, and kept it for almost a year.

Things sure have changed...
