I would like to list some changes with 1.2 I find very annoying:

-Picking up objects no longer opens inv.

-Folders don't close when you close inv.

-New "lighting" prevents use of force sundown debug feature, lighting doesn't change to daytime so the graphics look odd. and You're forced to wait out darktime.

-Lack of trasnparency in layout

-chunky layout, annoying login logoff calling card popups.

-Lower object/texture loading (I suspect this is an ATi card issuue)

I feel these are very annoying changes and there should be options to allow item pickup inv popup and folder closing after inv close. Expecially an option to return layout to old better looking/functioning one.

Put it on the feature suggestion forum that those things should be optional and I'll gladly support you there :D

Whether or not that is a bug, I feel it's something that will need immediate attention. I would rather have permanent daytime.

I forced daylight just like I always have when I played at lunch time. Make sure you know how to use the new UI before you freak out.

Forcing daytime works fine for me... first thing I did when I logged on.

I've wondered about this for a while... When you force daytime, is it local to your machine or does it force the whole sim?

It's a local thing - scripts and stuff still report the real value.

The menu item seems to have gone walkies, but you can still force daylight by hitting ALT-N.

HTH :)

If you lost the debug menu in the new UI then Control-Shift-D should get it back.

NO! You all don't get it, I know how to force daylight and get the debug menu. It's the new crappy "lighting" that makes forced daylight suck.

I agree, night and morining aren't needed.

If you don't like the lighting, turn it off in preferences. And you can also turn of the log on/log off notifications.

I like local lighting - the way it was. Why not fix bugs instead of break things that used to work perfectly? I buy a high end computer, lots of ram, and a GeForce FX, works perfectly fine and fast in 1.1, and in 1.2 some objects and textures never load.

I like the variety in lighting. Midnoon brilliant blue skies, morning sunrises, evening sunsets and moonrises....they are all really nice. I'd personally be aghast if they removed that, if anything it really adds flavor to the world.

You want constant light? Install a lamp near your computer and shine it in your face :)

This isn't about night/daylight, it's about local lighting. Broke with 1.2. You'd have to turn that feature on to see it - or better: don't ;)

Maybe it's only broken on ATI? It seems to be working the same as before for me.

I've got a GeForce4, with local lighting on. I tried creating large lit prim to use as a worklight, but it didn't illuminate its surroundings except when I was modifying that prim. Seems like a bug to me.

Iterface not transparent.

in the color.ini
OpaqueBackgroundColor 62 62 62 0

save and relog (does not update with debug menu update)
