Umm..when did this become impossible? I know it probably was never intended, but damn...it sure sucks to have folks miss out on events because the sim has 40 folks in it.

I used to be able to tp folks in no matter how full the sim was. And we had some fantastic times with 60+ folks packed into them.

Then yesterday I'm trying to bring people in for a discussion event, and I keep getting the "region is full" message. How frustrating!

I know..I know..that's probably the way it was always intended to be..but 40 just ain't enough!

:(

it's been possible as far back as i can remember. ll has had to expressly forbid us from doing this during town hall meetings and "organized" land rushes. remember those? ha ha ha ha ha hey jarod, i'm laughing at you and haney ha ha ha ha ha ha

Well..seemingly it is not possible any longer. A friend swears it's not been possible for as long as she remembers..and I basically told her she was crazy..until I tried last night...

You are quite correct David - it did used to be possible to port someone in to a full sim but its not been possible for weeks now, since before 1.6 actually. I did IM Nigel Linden who told me to report it as a bug which I did - so apparently it's not fixed.

On Tuesday night, I couldn't teleport folks in after 30 people - and I'm in a Telehub Sim.

For my game show, typically if a contestant is stuck up on stage due to lag, I'll offer them a TP to get them off stage quickly.

That wouldn't work.... every time I got the message "Teleport failed - Sim Full".

We'll see if I have the same problem tonight :)

Yes, it did used to be possible. I recall a party to PP I went to that must have had about 60 people or so, and that wasn't counting David's sheep. =P

These days it doesn't seem to be as I found out when at an event the other day and trying to port some friends in, and I think it is perhaps since 1.6 or just before that.. not really sure on the exact date of this ,but it is really a shame.

I remember a few parties I've been where people were crammed in like sardines, fun stuff.

it's truly sad if they took away this feature...

David can't get it to work so we know it's not a FIC only feature now... but then he is right on the FIC cutoff date so who knows :)

Naw..I'm not FIC..just one of the baby-boomer midbie crowd. I'm far too unproductive and Linden-free to be Feted or Fetid. Besides..they never invite me to the meetings. :(

On topic though: If this was an intentional "fix", it really does suck. There are times when it's just damn important (in an SL sense), or damn fun, to have far more than 40 AVs in a sim at once. And no way in hell am I leaving my sheep at home!

David, you're beyond feted... you're Feted. ;-)

I think some controls are needed - like if the sim is screaming "I'm DYING!"

I don't think a avatar count is a good metric, however. In an empty sim, you can support many more AVs than a newbie sim where everyone is running 96 meter llSensorRepeat avatar scanners on their 512 meter plots. Perhaps allow teleports / entry into the simulator until sim fps is lower than 15-20 sim fps or something?

Regards,

-Flip
