It's called Linden Lab. They are the ultimate authority.
Any subsequent forms of goverment are just that: different forms of goverment.

In one way you are correct in saying that we already have a form of government. The will of the people is the most true form of government. We, as residents of SL, have proven ourselves inherantly good, therefore, additional bylaws are a frivolity. If however we, as in the majority, were to be proven inherantly evil then we may need a set of bylaws which would exceed the limitations of the ToS. This has not been the case though. More laws and restrictions will only prove to set further limitations on creativity and progress. Just my opinion and I have been wrong in the past.

Yes, and the Government wants to abdicate!

I don't think LindenLabs is looking to hire more babysitters as SL grows.

I'm sure they go to bed at night praying that SLers would hurry up and start governing themselves..

"User-created content takes the idea of leveraging player opinions a step further by allowing them to effectively prototype new ideas and features. Developers can then measure which new concepts most improve the products and incorporate them into the game in future patches."

1. It's Linden Lab. No 's' ;)
2. SLrs already govern themselves on a smaller scale.
3. I agree, but realize there will never be an expansive governing system unless it is top-down. No power = No enforcement = No order and no government

Well, I run an island monarchy, and ultimately my sim is governed by God and Satan. Beat that.

I wouldn't say "just that". They are not that easy to setup and represet a lot of planning and dedication. Well done to anyone who can see a project like that through.

Jack, you're nitpicking. 'Just that' in this context is not belittling anyone's efforts. He could have said 'exactly that' instead and meant just that :p
