Even tho Ian explained that the fees are too high in the announcement section:

Fees display in Account History is bugged
Apparently alot of folks are seeing substatial Total Fees estimates in their Account History. This is because the system is still erroneously including land and object taxes in the estimate - you WILL NOT be charged this much on Tuesday. We'll have this fixed in the next patch.

I thought we didn't have to pay any more fees. I thought whatever tier we were on gave us a certain amount of land usage and a grant. Its like RL$ took over for the SL$ tax system.
I do consider fees as a sort of tax. Drivers License are a sort of tax...IMHO.
Please explain this to me and point me in the direction of a correction in my thinking! I want to prepare for the worst!!!Thanks.

PArcel Directory Listings cost money (L$). That is the only one I can think of right now.

That and being way over your limit, and not paying a monthly fee.

I believe if I read it right, the only fees charged are for those who go over their prim limit.

Someone mentioned The fee for the listing in the directory. This is a volunteer thing and you do not have to join. It is sort of like a SERVICE.

I thought those that are over their prim or land allotment have until Jan 12 to do something about it?

It's a mistake as mentioned by Ian Linden in this link:

Yeah...but he says: you WILL NOT be charged this much on Tuesday.
Soooo...I am assuming we will be charged something because of the "this much" statement. I am NOT over my alloted land and prim limit. I do NOT wish to be listed in the directory and have never listed in there.
If we are charged ANY fee if we are not over our limits and we are not listed in the directory...then it is still a tax.
Besides...this Tuesday is not the 12th of Jan.
soooooo confused...

There are no taxes or fees other than parcel directory listings. No listed parcels == no fee.
