A bit frustrating that we didn't get feedback until <24Hrs before release. We'll do what we can, but certainly nothing before tommorow morning.

It seems inevitable that some posts will occur during the last day that it is posssible to make posts, it has to do with the way that events work in a sequence. the arrow of time. If you didn't want to have new feedback offered during the last 24 hours before release you could have closed the feedback forum 24 hours before release instead of continuing to encourage people to try the preview and offer feedback.

Also, there exists in human behavior this propensity known as procrastination, the tendency to put things off till the last minute. If one wishes to sell products and services to humans, factoring this into one's plans would be sound thinking.

Did you really need to create a new thread in here for this? Why do people feel it is important to bash the Lindens in the most visible place, all the time.

There is no way to factor this into their business plans, since the Lindens are not (as far as I know) psychic individuals. You can not honestly expect them to immediately know your complaints without ever having actually vocalized them. That's just ridiculous.

There are always frustrations in any job, and this last minute report was frustrating. I enjoy working with a very HUMAN Philip that communicates with us as peers. The alternative would be for Philip to issue a sanitized statement through a PR department, filled with corporate cliches that blast sunshine right up our hoohahs. :D

I genuinely felt for Philip when I read his post. The disappointment and frustration was almost palpable in his unusually brief statement.

And, of course, he's right about this one. The build tools didn't get thrown in at the last second. I'm not sure what the point of this thread is, but I think with regard to the build tools not being up to expectation, the community let LL down and not the other way around.

yeah it does suck for LL to get to the night before and suddenly hear complaints but on the other hand......people have been talking about problems with the building tools since preview opened so i dunno why it's a big surprise. and we're not professional testers working for LL. helping make SL better helps ourselves but at the end of the day we're doing them a favor testing stuff for them. saves them hiring people to test officially (which would probably do a better job than us anyways).

Yes.

Maybe LF is the first one to open a thread dedicated to it, but this is not a new issue that just sprung up overnight.

Maybe next time, you should send in your comments earlier. Your procrastination is not thier problem - send it in earlier next time.
