I've done this several times and feel real stupid. I'm looking at a building or say a scene of some people and I want to zoom to another angle or move in closer. Then when I reach out for the keyboard and for a second can't figure out why it's not moving and then realize how silly I'm being.
I guess this indicates I spend way too much time in SL.

I found myself reaching for Alt+Mouse throughout the new Star Wars movie, just to see the details of those city scenes...now I wish SL had a city like the one in the movie...anyone with building skills? Can you make me a hovering space ship and a city scene?

Depends on the perspective you embrace. We could be playing too much RL.

Hah, I do that all the time. I also find myself trying to do it in non-3D apps like MS Word.
I can go a few better than just that example though. SL has really infested my brain. Just yesterday, my girlfriend couldn't stop laughing at me when I noticed an interesting looking building, and I admitted that my first instinct was to think "Wow, that's a really good texturing job." Also, I see alpha channels wherever I go. Trees, windows, road signs, they all look like alphas to me. I also find myself thinking in prims a bit more than I'd like. I see a building, a car, a dog, whatever, and instantly I visually disect into what would be its prim components.
I was a 3D modeler way before I joined SL, but only SL has affected me this way. I don't know what it is, but I'm not entirely convinced it's safe. Sometimes I think SL may be just a front for some kind of alien "To Serve Man" cookbook. Get us so hooked on VR we scarcely notice see real world as real anymore, conquor the planet without anyone even noticing or caring. Sounds like a perfect plot to me.

This doesn't only happen with people in sl. But with most people who use a single application very much. There are people that try to constantly use ctrl-z to undo things even in RL. Or i have read a story in a blog, about a someones girlfriend that was playing allot katamari Damacy. When they went for a drive just after she had played, she grabbed the steering wheel for a second to drive over a mailbox. Luckely no accidents happend. And about the screenshot. It happens to me too.

At least once, every time I go out, I see something and wonder how they built it. Sometimes it even takes me a minute to realize it's not actually prims. And, as for Ctrl+Alt+Mouse, I do that all the time as well. Especially in PSP and when watching Star Trek, but occassionally in the car as well. Actually, yesterday I was at Target and, for a second, I stepped back and thought to myself, "Wow, this is almost like shopping in SL! How life-like!" o_O
