As we all know, SL is freaking too much like RL. Same pains, same pleasures. Only difference may be - we can always walk away, or be reborn.
Possible advantages to SL: We have control over the way we look and we even have the power to be 'wealthy' - common excuses for a 'special someone' not liking us in RL.
Question is: Do you currently, or have you ever had a big time crush on someone in SL?
How did / do you deal with it? Does / Did it hurt? Was it as bad in SL as something similar in RL? Was it the avatar's look, or his / her personality you crushed on? I was going to make it a poll, but it may be better not to.
No names need to be mentioned.
Molto Grazie,
Tito

Tito I would disagree, remember that Sunday a couple weeks ago when it was like 70? Everyone was jogging topless, walking dogs, biking, fishing, golfing. It was crazy in Hyde Park. Spring in the air, at least on the warm days

Crushes are like baloons they inevitably get popped in a room full of pricks.

I have to admit that I have a crush. I didn't even really think of it as a crush until the posting of the thread. I won't name a name because then I'd really feel dumb. But anytime I'm even around this person, I get all giddy. I feel like a silly little girl. Then when he talks to me...well, I don't think I really need to elaborate, I'm sure we have all had a crush.

Molto Grazie,
Tito I met someone right off the bat who was charming, intelligent, articulate, and attentive (without being smothering)... the kind of person who would have appealed to me in RL. I misinterpreted his behavior, and when I let him know I had feelings for him he took off like a rat out of an aquaduct (forgive me, Monty Python, but I love that line). Sure, it hurt. But I leaned a valuable lesson, and I'll be careful not to read too much into anyone's in-game behavior in the future.
