The Red Sox are up 3 games love in a best of 7 in the World Series. Right now it's the 2nd inning with Boston up 1-0. Will the Curse of the Bambino finally be lifted tonight? For those who don't know, the Red Sox haven't won a World Series since they traded away Babe Ruth to the Yankee's. The last time they won the title was in 1918.

Heh they are only showing footage of screaming fans in New York bars. The mayor banned footage being shown in Boston bars since it incited riots or something. Good thing he didn't have to ban alcohol around the stadium since this game is being played in St Louis.

As a Boston resident who lives within about a 15 min drive from Fenway, I'm more than happy to say that we survived the impossible. More people died when we kicked Yankee butt than when we kicked Cardinal butt.
"George Steinbrenner... suck my Papi!"!!!
I'm sorry that we had to kick the Cards', becaue theyre the kewlest team in the NL that we could have beat up.
If anyone wants a "Whos Your Pappi?" t-shirt with a redsox logo blatently stolen from the MLB websites, I'll be more than happy to drop it on your inventory.

I'll take one of those shirts, Ace. Yeah, my two closest friends out here in Seattle are (like myself) from the NH/Mass area. They couldn't be happier. Hell, my buddy Chris' grandpappy was actually born in 1919 and never got to see the Sox win a series through his whole long life. Lots of folks from those parts have similar stories. Chris put the Sox victory over the Cards into its proper context, but I'll embellish. "Just imagine that you put on your armor, open the gates of hell and march up to Satan. You battle fiercely, but just as you're about to die, you thrust a blow into the heart of the great demon and he falls dead at your feet." "Now, imagine there's a rent-a-cop standing behind Satan with a baton and an orientation manual. That's the cardinals."

Anyone heading to the parade saturday? 10 AM starting near Fenway and ending at Cambridge st near city hall.
I'm gonna try to get my butt back to Boston for it, but I have the feeling that I won't be able to get off work for it.

Basically I have been missing from the forums and SL in general due to this history making baseball post season. All I can say is the last 2 weeks have been the greatest ride of my life. I saw them lose 19-8 in Fenway. Let me tell you, leaving Fenway that night was one of the saddest nights of my life. I was so annoyed I paid so much just to go see what I thought was another post season disapointment. Then I went to Yankee Stadium game 6 and saw Curt Schillingkeep The Yankees off balance all night on his one good foot. To watch the Yankee fans cry about a call not go their way FOR ONCE was something I will never forget. The great proud "Class Act" Yankee fans reveiled themselves for what they are, spoiled brats, just like the team they root for. To top it off with a sweep against the best team in baseball this year, was the perfect ending. I have been waiting almost my whole life for this and it has been sweet
