Somehow I'm thinking this is really a general SL issue - Club Elite really was one of the first institutional business models in SL.

I agree Merwan. The Elite certainly has it's place in SL history. While not the first club in SL, it was the certainly the first to be very successful and it survived a long time by SL standards. And it did indeed become the model to which the club explosion looked to.

It was my very first hangout spot in Second Life, when i was alone, lost and so new I had no idea what i was doing. And the folks that used to dance and work there, many of which are still around, become my first social contacts. I used to love spending my friday nights in the Elite, so long ago.

I never cared much for how BJ ran the place, or his personality, but he sure had a good run, and Patrick after him.

Another SL landmark fades into the past.

Thank you Merwan. I am surprised that I just now found this post, although I have taken a break since I sold the Island. I am getting back into the swing of things and hope to contribute more in the future.

I hear BJ is bringing Elite back soon!
