I am hoping that like the decadence of the Romans... and a long time after the crusade... there will be a period of enlightenment in SL. I predicted this prematurely awhile ago... but I have not given up hope.

of course it will cycle through normal historical patterns. those occur because of human actions and reactions. it has nothing to do with the interface. we are exactly the same people that we were eight thousand years ago and will be eight thousand years from now.
