Meh smacked right up against my land boundary. /crys I plan to ask if the person will put a nicer texture on that side of the club for me, but it sure was a shock when I logged on. ALl of the other houses in the area are nice looking or at least interesting, but now I have a big cream colored brick wall right next to my pretty fountain area

Clear Tiles

What a joy it was to find clear tiles in SL. You can paste them on the outside of everything you build, and it means that your neighbours can't see anything of yours that might bother them. It looks like the clear blue sky. I wish more people would follow that practice.

wiggle, next time you purchase land in an unspoiled region, take pictures of the pristene views. snap them directly to your hard drive so they'll be well detailed. you can split them into a few pieces then and paste them to the sides of ten by ten prims to create a wall of your original, natural view.
just snap the pics at first. get one for each direction. only go to the trouble of splitting them out and uploading them if you need to after somebody builds next to you. if you want to be really nice, take pictures from your neighbors' lots as well. so you can put their natural views on the backsides of your walls.

I have a picture of SL trees I was gonna ask to be put on that side. Or maybe just some of the local rock texture..
I found in a secret room with my camera a small prim with my name on it too. When I inspected it, it had a script called AVIcon. Anyone know what that is? Is this like invasion of the body snatchers or something? Am I being secretly filmed while doing bad stuff in my house... What is this thing?!!1

I kinda did that with some trees. I dont think it will so horrible if I can just get the color changed from that bright cream color.

I wonder if there would ever be a feature, similar to parcel local sound, for parcel only object rendering?
Something which is changed clientside, in preferences perhaps?

Something which is changed clientside, in preferences perhaps? You may remember something like this existed for a time back around 1.0. It was "Parcel Draw Distance" or some such, which would create more/less fog around your parcel (when on your parcel) depending on the distance you set. It was a nice feature because not only for the reason above, but also for lag and if you had alot of objects on your own parcel so people could use more of their FPS on your parcel than objects around. However, this caused the issue of your draw distance going in and out, foggy and not, as you flew over everything (I remember this from when I flew over I think it was Venice for the first time way back when, suddenly I was surrounded in pink fog). Even more however, this can be fixed. My idea would be to let us set Parcel Draw Distance again, but not use such horrible fog, as well as only having the effect kick in if you're on the parcel for 5 or so seconds, this would cut down on the "fly over" fog effect, and allow anyone who actualy wants it to kick in, to well, kick in. Personaly I think this would be an awsome feature to have. You could also alternatively have the option to have "fog" or to just "not render outside objects", so you can see the ground, sky, etc.

Actually I wasn't around then, but I already took this problem into consideration, which is why I think it would be best set to a client side option, so other flyovers wont be affected.
