Wasn't sure where to ask this - so here's the spot i suppose:
Anyone heard of any talk-radio in SL? or any streams that feature ads, interviews, SOME talk?
anyone can tune in a stream of music - there are millions, but i'd love to listen to something that relates to SL in some interesting fashion - call in shows, etc...
if not.. anyone want to develop this with me?
Trent!

I think this is a great idea! You could incorporate a man-on-the-street roving reporter for part of the show, interviewing people that are doing interesting things with their Second Life, as well as talk shows featuring individuals that are central to current events or debated topics. Also, getting Lindens and such to speak would be a plus. You could even have a RL news report, or comedy news report (grab some of those humorous or off-beat little news stories). What fun to have "breaking news" about a sim crash, or prims attacking..or an hourly event update (telling folks what events are upcoming).
You could sell advertising, doing audible ads, either produced by the talk radio station or by the vendor themselves.
Too bad I have no valuable skills to add to this enterprise of I would offer to help out.

*laugh* Trent, dearest - you are insane. I don't listen to radio these days at all, because of the -talk-!!!
Ok ok, it's not such a bad sounding idea, though. If it's related to SL and in-world goings-on... it could actually be fun. Oh all right. Count me 'on the fence' on this question.

That would be pretty cool, but I am not sure if I would want to set an entire parcel to stream it, I guess I would listen to it through winmap though

I have all the required 'audio production' skills to pull this off - but i wager it would require much more than that...
-server space? -bandwidth for the stream at a cost?
anyone have thoughts about this?
I could do the following however : -produce audio content (effects, ads, promos etc) -interview willing folks with voice - and edit these into useful pieces : I think this would be GREAT - lots of people would love to hear the voices of the av's they have known so long.. -schedule music and ads and talk content mixed -regularly produce a live show from an in-world location - i have enough computers to do all this at once and I think it'd be a hoot to boot!
keep the ideas coming - and the volunteer of services - this might fly!
REALLY no one already doing this?
