Virtual gamers reveal themselves
From: someone
"She plays Jova Song, this character that hardly has any, or few, clothes on. She was playing a second life [sic] in a 3D chatroom where the competitive element has been removed.

"They have photoshoots for avatars and that go in a games magazine. Her avatar was the first centrefold for the magazine."
This is why "Second Life" was perhaps a poor choice. Oh well, it could have been worse... :)

Worse also as in:
From: someone
There are companies which specialise in making and selling enhancements and add-ons specifically for customising avatars.

Thats an interisting article though.

I wish they had showed what games each of those pictures were from also, some of them look interisting and something to check out (picture featuring Luke), others look like something to avoid (picture featuring Virtual Lucy).

Yeah, throwing it all onto one semi-coherent hodgepodge without further labelling is negligible because it diminishes the meaningful context these individuals get from having selected a particular MMO (or whatever they're abbreviated as nowadays).

I laughed after reading this:

From: someone
"Mostly people go for either human, or a variation on humans, like a dwarf or elf or humanoid alien," said Mr Cooper.

Reminds me of an earlier article I was reading about Second Life featuring a dwarf chippin' away at constructing his dream home. And oh yeah, I haven't really seen any convincing crawling or tripod action in SL yet -- something to consider for those who wanna be a three-legged robot.

What if Linden Lab acquired There and became EVERYWHERE? :D

Interesting article.
Little did they know we beat them to it about six months ago with the "Official First Life Picture tread"

That's Church of Fools, I think. It's been in the news lately as well.
