Get size?

I just noticed that there doesn't seem to be any way at all to get the measure of land that isn't for sale.

This may not SEEM to be a major change, but it does have some implications. Why should it be a secret how large a parcel of land is?

Right now, I'm looking for groups of small landholders who - together - might have a contiguous acre. I would like to conduct business with them based on the size of their parcel.

Am I missing something? Is there a button to click? Right now, I have to look for the prim allotment and run a formula to estimate the parcel size.

I suspect the person who looked at the UI thought it wouldn't make sense to leave the estimated cost ("L$X for Ysq meters";) info in there since - for land not for sale - that's a silly estimate. On the OTHER hand, there is no reason not to leave the measure of the land in that same location in the dialog - without the price.

Please put the size of the plot back in the land editing dialog.

I third it! I hate seeing good features not put in, or taken away for some stupid reason.

Actually, I just discovered that I can no longer get a size on the plots to be auctioned in Magenta.

This means I can't tell what size a given lot number is. And that makes an auction impossible - or at least impractical.

So, now I am going to assume it's just a mistake and will be back in the next rev or two :-) I should never have doubted. Mea culpa :-)

Thanks in advance ;-)

Speaking of 'lost' features, am I missing something when it comes to -merging- pieces of land?

I've got two parcels right next to eachother, and somehow I just can't figure out how to make them one. The command certainly isn't right where it used to be.

we don't have a join land feature yet. the subdivide works if that's any consolation.

Joining land you already own:

Try this. Sell one of the plots to a friend for $1, then buy it back for the same and choose to join.

Works fine unless you have a few plots adjacent the the one to be joined as there is no way to choose which plot to join it to.

The plot size info now missing is a real pain. we NEED it back !!

I'm not as worried about joining land now because we don't have to pay taxes on land. I found that pre-1.2, joining land significantly cut down my taxes.

While we are on the topic of lost functionality, why do they keep taking away features? That is not progress. There is enough stuff we are clamoring for without taking away useful features that already exist - the Focus On option, releasing/claiming objects, attachments to the neck (Launa Fauna mentioned this disappeared, I have not confirmed this), the ability to remove clothes all at once (and why is skirt not available to be removed?), and finally, the ever popular non-collapsing inventory window. Please bring this stuff back, along with the size of a plot of land.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring back all of this and the plot size info!!! I've needed EVERY ONE of these within the last 24 hours even! (and Im sure Im not alone). The skirt thing has always driven me nuts, and what a hassle to make something for someone and u can't just release it to them in place like you could before, such as a scripted door/elevator or something that you want to stay where it is positioned.

I can kinda sorta understand why they removed "Release", becuase public property is quickly cleaned up automatically in 1.2.

What we need now though is an ability to transfer ownership of a rezzed object to another person. This can be important if someone wants to contract someone else's building skills to add to an existing structure that's already rezzed.

For example, I may want to offer a service to install elevators on other people's land. Someone pays me, and I go do the work, and when I'm done installing it, I transfer the ownership of the elevator, buttons, etc. to the person who contracted me.

Can't do that now...
