Over this long holiday weekend, I have noticed a number of threads that have become personal attack threads. NOT a good thing. Lets just remember that SL is supposed to be fun, and consider what a newbie taking his/her first look at the forums would think. We haven't exactly been inviting the last couple of days, and I'd imagine that we may have lost at least a couple of trial residents because of the bickering. Who would want to move into a battlezone? Linden Labs has given us the tools to build our second lives, and the flexibility to (almost) create a world that could offer something for everyone. If we keep picking on each other, and making personal attacks, its very possible that SL will fail. Remember, LL does not have deep pockets like EA. I'm not going to name names, choose sides or address any issues here. I have only one final thing to say. PLAY NICE  |

PLAY NICE I've always felt SL was for me, a place to forget about my RL prejudices and pre-concieved notions. And I have done quite well at meeting people with views diametrically opposed to my own without ever letting that person know our differences or treating them in a manner less those I hold a great deal ofrespect for like Siobhan, Fey, Nephilaine, Chip or others. Personal attacks serve no purpose but to intentionally hurt the person on the other side of the screen and degrade an otherwise wonderful experience at learning and and expanding our view of things through our Second Life adventures. It is very unfortunate that asking certain people here to do something like, address the substantive points of a post without condescending quips and insulting remarks directed at the message poster is literally impossible. I do agree Teeny. Some things took a very bad turn. In my defense I could say it takes two to tango, but this also condemns me for the same reason. I didn't have to get on the dancefloor.

Yay! A NICE thread to post on! What they said! I've gotta say, I used to be as addicted to these forums at work in the morning as I am to being in-world in the evening, but this last week, I've actually avoided the forums a few times. I've no need nor desire to add to a nasty thread, even if I read the whole lot just to know whats going on. It's not that I'm not opinionated enough, or too much of a hippy to speak up - I'm just here to have fun, escape a bit, and forget the shitty parts of my FL. Like attracts like I guess, and all my SL friends seem to be here for the same reason I hope our fellow lifers listen to what Teeny has written. Small companies are delicate things, and easily broken. Entertainment IT companies even more so. I would be gutted if LindenLabs took a dive... especially since I met my soulmate here, and SL is our first home!
