OK, this is something that has bugged me since day one. We can decide whether or not we want to receive calling card notifications, which is slightly better than nothing, but we can't decide WHO we want to be notified about.
There are very few people whose logons and logoffs I care to be notified about, and waaaaay too many people whose calling cards I have, but I never talk to. Casual trades and whatever else.
I hope no one will take this to mean that I never want to hear from them again. I don't mean it that way at all! It's just that the notification panel is driving me up the wall. I will keep cards for people I actually talk to, but all the cards for people I never talk to but whose names are flashing on my screen two or three times a minute... gone.

I agree with you, I'm still reluctant to cut down my cards though... I'm just weird like that, packrat by nature. Don't blame you at all for cuttin back though as alot are. Wish there was more functionality to Calling Cards so you could select individuals to be told who goes offline/oniine etc.

You can simply turn off all notifications, but it loses the functionality of being able to see the log on and off of those you want to see.
Under "general preferences" uncheck the box that says, "print online notifications". You will never see who comes and goes again.

Well anyone who deletes mine is getting a triple neg rating first chance I get.  (J/K) I'm leaving mine alone for the most part, I might delete some that I really have no clue about eventually down the road. If I'm feeling social when I log in, sometimes what I'll do is go down the list of people that are online and pick out someone I haven't seen in awhile or look for someone who appears to be at a gathering. But if I don't have your CC, I can't bug you--no fair! I think they're useful for finding people you don't see that often. It's especially nice if you like knowing a large number of people as opposed to knowing a smaller number (many friends or few close friends tradeoff). But that's just a personality trait. Wow I'm rambling. I wish CC's each had a toggle to turn on/off online notification.

WTF is C3PO supposed to be USEFUL for anyway, besides whining? Stupid piece of scrap metal would be more useful recycled as a toaster. But even that would suck, because who would want to listen to a whining wussy toaster? Is he gold plated? If that's the case he should just be melted down into gold ingots. Help the economy some, and stop being so damn useless you stupid bucket of bolts! R2 is 1,000 times more useful than your tin man ass, and he's shaped like a salt and pepper shaker FFS!

I have to agree, calling card notification, without our control about which players we see log in/out is lame. I don't know if I'll delete cards, I do however want to only see notification for a few (5-20 tops) of the hundreds of cards I have. It's simply A N N O Y I N G.
