Damn. That is wrong. They moved to the XBox rather than sticking with Nintendo.

I've been holding off dusting off the N64 just to wait to play through the whole thing in super-rez (with fuzz filters!) again on the Xbox. March... Sooo long to wait... (And it has even MORE multiplayer goodness this time!)

Rare was behind the games that Conker appeared in (The Diddy Kong Racing and his own game later on) and Nintendo let Rare go a little while ago (A year or two ago) because they didn't like the amount of time it took Rare to develop their games. Rare was bought out by Microsoft and now develop games for the Xbox. So now, a lot of the characters that used to be on Rare's N64 games will be on the Xbox!

I've been playing a lot of Rare games lately... partly because I remembered how much I loved them as a kid, and partly because I didn't relate the creators of the game to the content of the game as a kid. So, now, I've been looking up all the Rare games out there and trying to play lots of them. Having read that they sold out to Microsoft a few weeks ago, I was really really pissed. The Xbox may have the best graphics 'or whatever,' but their game producers are awful. I'd have to say, the only good one they have is Rare. Hopefully, Rare will dismantle and the team will slowly sneak on back to the Nintendo. The Donkey Kong series is amazing, I'm playing Starfox Adventures right now, I borrowed the Banjo 64 series from a friend, and those ones are next.

SFA was mildly disapointing- mainly because it wasn't originally going to be a Starfox game.
It was originally called "Dinosaur Planet" and had nothing to do with Starfox..

Yeah--that's pretty obvious from the gameplay (and I read up on it before I played.) I've heard people complain that the game sucks because it's too much like Zelda. But... I think that what makes the game so good is the fact that it took some very cool "Zelda-like" elements and just made the whole game that way. Every single area was like a "Zelda dungeon." I kind of liked that. The flying scenes and whatnot were apparently obligatory, and the gameplay for such was ick, but as a Rare game and a puzzle-ish game, it was pretty cool. Just finished it today, by the way. I think the end boss was a little bit 'much.'

Rare does well with a lot of their adventure and quest type games, but I was really disappointed when they turned Star Fox into primarily an adventure game. I really enjoyed the piloting aspect of the first two and am glad the newest one will bring that aspect back.

It was originally called "Dinosaur Planet" and had nothing to do with Starfox.. Yeah... SFA reminded me more of Zelda than Star Fox. Plus that lame dinosaur that follows you around really gets on your nerves... was cool how he changed colors sometimes though.
