The 1.6.12 preview features an empty, flat Rizal, perfect for building big things.

While Rizal in Preview is very good for that. I think LL wants to try and restrict the preview grid for bug testing rather than just use as a sandbox. A prime example of this is the cutting out of free money to prevent people from uploading and testing animations and textures and the like (which I did ). While it may be very handy to do, it's not what the preview grid is for ultimately. I believe most bugs have been tested and found in .12 preview, so not sure why it's still up. Main changes being the notecard fix (actualy works), No cancel button on Death teleports (works), and no cancel on llTeleportAgentHome teleports (broken, bug found).

I have some pictures taken at a Preview grid party, hosted by a Linden staff member , that are a clear indication that the preview grid is not intended solely for somber performance of testing , or else that somebody on the Linden staff needs to set a better example.
I can't post the pictures because they don't pass the PG standards that apply in the forums.
Using the preview grid now while it's running and empty cannot possibly harm a thing; if it can, please explain how.
Much of the testing that occurs in the preview grids is done under a very unrepresentative condition of extremely low population, low texture loading, low transaction volume. I suspect having people there playing around makes the testing have greater value as a result of imposing a more realistic load on the servers.
I think my sim filling perfectly aligned is real cool, it's not often i get a chance to build it, since it's so big.
And by the way, if they don't want people to use the Rizal sim as a sandbox in the preview, why did they clear it out and name it "Rizal Sandbox"?

Building in sandboxes is bad bad bad.

Going to a completely empty sandbox sim and building something is the absolute worst thing anyone has ever done or ever could do, if you leave SuezanneC's hair stylist out of the discussion.

Has anyone on a mac gotten preview 1.6.12 to run?
I get the "you must download a new version" loop...
