It seems that there are a plethora of "eat the rich" posts these days. How would you classify the nature of these posts?

1. Would it be Trolling? http://www.jargon.net/jargonfile/t/troll.html
2. Perhaps Kooky ramblings? http://www.houghi.org/jargon/kook.php
3. A Communist political statement?
4. I would get banned if I answered this truthfully.
5. Taggy, you know better. Someone should smack you for polluting the forum with another poll.

i'd get banned if i answered this truthfully.

money serves two purposes in sl. first, and harmlessly, it serves as a point system to prove the value of people's work or their ability to politic, charm or just plain swindle others out of their funds. it's the component of second life that makes the whole thing a game.

the second purpose is detrimental. it serves philip's heady dream of establishing a virtual economy that will become a recognizable force in the real world economy. this focus has almost (almost) completley ruined linden lab's chances of marketing second life as a professional business and educational platform. economy requires community and that underlying current, to foster the community, has caused too many necessary ui features, language enhancements, and cs/tos revisions & enforcements to be ignored.

* edited to say that i should qualify this by adding that philip built linden lab from the ground up and fostered, mostly paid for, the development of the second life grid. he can, and should, do with it whatever he pleases pending the investors' approval. i only offer my opinion of what it can be and explain why it probably won't.

I guess that's ultimately it -- wether you agree with the vision LL has built over the past year and where it seems it wants to head with SL -- or you don't.
