Lindens, you might want to take a peek. I cannot get to the corp. site. Pinging it doesn't seem to be returning anything either.

Just FYI...

We are up again, after a day of DOS attacks directed at our site. For those who don't know what that is - a DOS attack is when you send garbage traffic at a website meant to disable it. In our modern world of windows/email viruses, this means that these attacks can be mounted by large numbers of compromised unsuspecting consumer machines. It is an unfortunate internet trend which we are now subject to. But never fear, we will ride out these attacks by adding bandwidth and additional routing, etc.

Sorry to hear that, and things seem to be up again... it really does suck. There are enough problems in the world, and I don't understand why some people have to cause more instead of being good to other humans and improving life for all.

Yes, my hosting provider suffered from the same thing. It's got to be the worst thing in the world

Finally, I dumped them for ev1servers who has DOS protection.

The unfortunate thing about all this is that my previous hosting provider was being blackmailed and they didn't pay up. As a customer, I tried to hang in there because I felt it was pretty sad what was happening, but in the end I had to move on.

Mostly because if their engineers were better, there are solutions out there which can route around DOS. In the end, I felt I was paying for second-rate engineers.

"User-created content takes the idea of leveraging player opinions a step further by allowing them to effectively prototype new ideas and features. Developers can then measure which new concepts most improve the products and incorporate them into the game in future patches."
