i was wondering if i could get some info please. if i buy a 512 parcel are there any other fees on top of monthly fee & how much is a 512 parcel going to cost me if i upgrade?

If you pay the monthly fee, you are entitled to own 512 without any additional fees. Your first 512 could only cost you L$512 if you buy "First Land". You can find these by looking at the "Find" then "Land Sales" buttons. Once there, you will see a drop down menu. Select "First Land" and hit the search button. All the land on that list is only L$512. You can only use this feature once, so buy carefully.
This is a pretty good savings off of retail, which can be anywhere from L$1200 to L$3000 depending on demand. Whatever you do, don't let anyone bully you into selling that land cheap. Look at how much other land in your sim is going for and price accordingly. There are a number of real estate agents in world who can help you out if you decide to "trade up." I would IM someone like Lisse Livingston if you want help doing this.
