Here are some features that I would like to see in Second Life. I was a bit late when the chance to post requests for 1.1 was available, but I figure I'll post them here just because...

1) In object edit mode, be able to select a single object in a linked set, and be able to edit the script on that single object and/or the object's size/position itself without having to delink and relink.

2) Strattle animation. Sit is kewl, but when making something like a bike, sitting on it side-ways isn't gonna work too well.

3) A Phantom option where "Lock" and "Physics" are located in the object edit window.

4) The ability to have a single prim in a link set be phantom by itself.

5) A function that will have the object give itself to someone/something. Simular to llGiveInventory, but instead llGiveSelf(key id) which would give itself to a person/object. (This feature is desperately needed for a HUGE SL game I am developing which everyone in SL can play together at once)

To the best of my knowledge, these are features that do not exist (unless I have over looked them), if they do exist, please let me know. I'm still listing more, but this is what I have so far.

1) In object edit mode, be able to select a single object in a linked set, and be able to edit the script on that single object and/or the object's size/position itself without having to delink and relink.

Select is possible, edit script is possible (select individual), changing size and position w/o delink/relink, suggestable but I seriously think it's somthing hard-coded and can't be changed. But suggest it anyways and see what happens :D

2) Strattle animation. Sit is kewl, but when making something like a bike, sitting on it side-ways isn't gonna work too well.

Instead, the Lindens are working on uploadable animations for us, so I've pretty much given up on asking for any new ones since we'll just be able to make them ourselves eventually.

3) A Phantom option where "Lock" and "Physics" are located in the object edit window.

I suggested this a while back and it will be a part of a special post I'm going to have after v1.1 fully releases. The post is special because it will include things that I feel are easy to implement or things that we all know we've been asking for forever.

4) The ability to have a single prim in a link set be phantom by itself.

Again, unsure if this is possible as links are sorta a messy subject (caused a LOT of glitchy things back in the day) and could possibly be so hard-coded that it's unchangable. Suggest anyway though :D

5) A function that will have the object give itself to someone/something. Simular to llGiveInventory, but instead llGiveSelf(key id) which would give itself to a person/object. (This feature is desperately needed for a HUGE SL game I am developing which everyone in SL can play together at once)

I'm completely oblivious as to how this is different from llGiveInventory (aside from the fact that the object is giving itself rather than an object inside of an inventory). Is it that hard to place the object you want to give inside some other object's inventory, or do you merely want a shortcut, or am I missing somthing?

Finally, I suggest you post in the Feature Suggestion forum, rather than the General Discussion forum. :D

Dave, I want to be able to edit the script of a signle object that is in a linked set. I do not know how that is possible as SL currently stands.

The reason for the llGiveSelf request, is too complicated to explain... I'll try to give you an example... Here's a lame example. Let's say I make a "Treasure Find" game. Wher eyou have a medal detector, and you go around, and it beeps REALLY loud. And once your over the item, I want the item to be given to you (Only if you have the metal detector)... Now if the 'metal' object is scripted so that it does a bunch of certain things, it's kind of a paid to have to put a dupe copy within it, and then have it give you the dupe, because once the finder puts the object back out for someone else to find (assuming there is a reason for that), it can no longer give the next finder an inventory item that does not exist, unles I do item -> item -> item -> item like 100s of times.

I could not find the feature thread/section. Purhapse you can provide a link?

-Thanks

First click the "Select Individual" button on the Edit tool. Then click on the object you want to work on. Then switch to the Content Tab, and you can open the script for that particular object.

Thanks Jake.

Chance, I think the llGiveSelf thing, or what I like to call "Recursive Item Giving/Rezing" isn't around for a specific reason, so I doubt that it'll ever be implemented. Either that or I still have no idea what you're talking about, in which case the Lindens won't have any idea what you're talking about either, which won't exactly make it easy for them to think about implementing your feature :D
