You know me?

You may have seen me at top of Corcovado mountain in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil.

I am also an original work of art commisioned from a well known SL artist a few months ago. My SL home IS Prainha, Maui.

If you see me anywhere else, I do not belong there. If you received me as a gift or bought me from someone, be aware that the person that commissioned the work paid for exclusive rights, so you are not supposed to have me. Please take me down and delete me from your inventory.

Oooh I have always loved the RL statue. I can't wait to see this one!

One of my goals (a fun goal, not a serious one) in life is to hike up there and look up at the statue. Would love that.

Wait a sec... are you saying that someone stole a statue of Jesus and is reselling it against the sculptor's wishes? That's so low I can't begin to put it in words.

Basically, yes. I paid someone to build it for me to my specifications with the agreement it was not to be sold to anyone else.

I have run into two copies already, but the artist swears he did not give it to anyone. I guess I will give him the benefit of a doubt.

I contacted the people that had the two statutes I found, and they were extremely nice and understanding and said they would take it down.

I will probably never find out how the statue was released, and it is probably too late to contain it, so I posted this message to at least make folks aware it is not either free or for sale.

Tito,

I just remembered something. When I placed Cristo on my mountain in Marunogere/Quat, I messaged the artist and told him that I would like him to see where I placed him, because I had combined it with 2 of Starax Statosky's sculptures (Drowned) and the effect was heartbreakingly beautiful

. I TP'd him to the mountain and he SAW that I did place Cristo; he asked where I got it from and I told him the name of the person who had given the copy to me. I do not remember the name, but I am sure he does, because that person was a friend of his. Apparently this person had helped him with the design?

Another thing that bothers me, is that he did not mention to me that this was a commissioned work. He did not suggest that I should take the statue down. I am very sorry this happened to you, and you can rest assured that the statue has been not only taken down from the mountain, but also deleted from my inventory.

We call it Cristo-Rei. It's on the other side of the river.

Yeah, I am beginning to think that the artist released it, but I can't do anything about it now.
