This is my favorite part of this article:

Some warned Bush that while they didn't mind a space station being built, "they didn't want landing flags or rusting vehicles dumped on their land."

Well first off, MORONS--iron, water and oxygen are needed for "rust". Apparently these imbeciles who believe they should be able to dictate the future of space exploration have weak science backgrounds, in ADDITION to microscopic brains.

But more significantly...have these people lost their minds?

This "Dennis Hope" guy should be locked up, he's clearly a dirt bag and probably belongs in a mental institution. Selling land on the moon for $18?

Hey, anyone want to buy one of the virtual bridges in the vehicle sims? I obtained legal ownership of them last month and I really need to offload those things at bargain prices.....

Personally, I find the whole thing amusing. If someone can actually dupe people into buying real estate in a place they can not visit (now or in the near future), is said person a moron? If I were a crooked owner of a used car dealership or a politician, I'd hire this guy. He has managed to make a buck off of the fastest growing demographic on the planet, the hopelessly stupid.

Before someone accuses me of being ok with the idea, let me say now that I'm not.

Note: I wasn't calling the seller a moron, I was calling the buyers morons, just in case that wasn't clear. I'm calling the seller a scam artist who should be in jail. Well, maybe just have him pay a huge fee to go to a good cause. As far as the people who bought land losing their money to this good cause...we'll just call it a stupidity tax.

The star thing, while clearly a similar case (since it's just some schmo who decided to start naming stars), is much more believable in that stars actually do get named. While most (hehe) people realize that land on the moon isn't owned...lol.

As a side note on the topic of stupidity, I recently had someone ask me what 25% of 19.99 was.
