From the release notes, what's that supposed to mean? How were they unreliable?

Sometimes group IMS do not work, sometimes they do... its been a bug for sometime now.

Also I beleive there was an issue when receiving a group IM conference, that if you wanted to IM a specific member that was in the group chat it wouldn't open up a new message window, it would just go to the group chat window.

How do you close a message window/tab out? I get all these tabs and have to scroll left or right to find them..can you reset it or delete a IM tab from previous IM's?

The bug that Damien mentioned has not been fixed yet. I thought it was fixed in 1.5.6 but someone has come up with an new way to reproduce it.
"More reliable group IMs" means that if you have open a group IM session that has a large number of recipients (a big group) your message should be correctly delivered to every online member of that group (rather than silently going to a fraction of the group members). |

Candy just select the IM tab you want to delete and click the Close button on the bottom right of the IM window.
