(a little late on this post, but here it is anyway..)

After thikning on it for awhile, i've realized that last night i had a dream about SL..

a VERY vivid dream..

and i wasn't just playing SL, i was IN it! i was an avatar! (first person view)..

..all i can remember is that there was a picnic type of thing going on.. some vampire role-players running around arguing over something about someone's appearance..
..i think there was a group that were of a more militant look..

not sure who i was hanging out with.. but i remember someone rezzing a rocket/firework, then shouting for everyone to 'LOOK OUT'..

..but most interesting of all was the ash that something (the rocket/firework? a cigarette?) produced.. someone made a comment.. not sure who or what it was...
..the point is, i had some of this ash in my hand.. i looked down, i saw it's powdery substance softly smooth-out between my fingers as i gently rubbed the small pile of ash into said fine powder..
..now UNDERSTAND this: i felt it! i remember feeling it! go ahead, get some ash that's finer that cigarette ash.. gently rub it between your fingers.. that's what i felt.. how it felt on my thumb and each finger.. absolutely wild!

i dreamt i was an avatar in SL.. and i want to go back.

Vivid dreams like that are interesting. They can kind of leave you me in awe sometimes when you wake up afterward.

I fairly consistently lucid dream (my av name is a lucid dreaming term).

Often times, your subconscious will rebel against lucid dreaming, trying to trick you into dreaming.

For the first couple of weeks of play in SL, I had "being an avatar" dreams almost every night. They were quite vivid, and because I was playing ALL the time those first couple of weeks, I didn't get my normal dream cues to allow me to go lucid.

The great thing now is that I've had Those dreams consistently enough, that I can now recognise them as dreams and go lucid.

Weird though, if you have a lucid dream about being an AV in SL, it really isn't much different than actually playing. I use this lucid dream time now to help plan and think about what I'm gonna do in SL when I get up. :D

Weirder still is how many times I find myself attempting to 'go lucid' now when I'm actually awake and playing SL.

A couple of months ago I had an SL dream where I was an avatar. Don't remember the theme of the dream, but I do remember I was one of my first avs I made in game. A little green goblin with purple hair.

Dang, I thought you were starting a poetry thread...

I dreamt I was an avatar
and thought that I could fly
with alpha wings a-fluttering
and llClouds() nearby

Sinclair,
i've been trying to come up with something about SL to make a song about.. maybe i should use your short poem as part of the lyrics? :)
