http://www.nypost.com/seven/11052004/business/31693.htmThat's right. Keep your marriages. You'll still need to buy a dress and flowers. We'll be watching. We'll just take money instead. New attendance records at the Gay Life Expo along with courtship by all the big boys. From: someone "Visitors at the Expo earn an average $93,748 — that's about double the national average," said Steven Levenberg, chief operating officer of Consolidated Management Associates, a trade show firm that stages Gay Life Expo each year in three big markets — Los Angeles, Miami Beach and New York City.
"Companies are here just to reach everyone on a personal level. When exhibitors see gays and lesbians, they don't see politics; they see dollars. It's good business." That's right bitches, you can walk down the wedding aisles and I'll go shopping at Barneys. Get ready for Must Sing TV! That's right, soon every Thursday night will be sing-a-long showtunes night on every network. We haven't decided yet but we are considering replacing Monday Night Football with marathon screenings of Mommie Dearest, Whatever Happened to Baby Jane, Auntie Mame, Funny Girl and Yentl. From: someone "Other trade shows are flat or shrinking, but we've been up steadily for five years. This is our best ever year." Uh huh. You know why that is? It's because we're rich biatch! Ask anyone, it's a hell of a lot easier to be oppressed in a Lexus. Mmmm...hmmmm...for sure baby doll. We've already started the campaign to remove the book "Heather Has Two Mommies" from all bookshelves and will replace it with the recently written "Here's How I Want You to Fold my Napkin, Breeder". On the subject of breeding. We are very concerned about the gene pool and will invest heavily in genetic research firms. We don't have a conclusive agenda for this matter but goverment run breeding camps seem to be the most logical solution. Thousands of years of leaving it up to chance just doesn't seem to be working out. Regulated breeding will help control population and eliminate abortion in one fell swoop. We are pleased. We are very concerned about the environment. A large percentage of the population will need to start driving teensy weensy little fuel efficient hybrid cars. We think we have determined a good 90% of the population suitable for this type of program. Try not to stop short in front of my Hummer.

There -are- states that have passed constitutional amendments guaranteeing gay marriage, aren't there?

Great strategy. Grab 'em by the commodities, their political hearts, minds, and laws will follow. Always happens that way.

From: The Article at the Javits Center,
Considering this is one of THE premier expo centers in the world, located in Manhattan in a rich area, and admission is usually high priced, I'd say it's a big duh that the median income of attendees was high. That's like saying the people who attend an opera have a higher than average median income, or a ritsy restaurant. Doi

From: Moleculor Satyr There -are- states that have passed constitutional amendments guaranteeing gay marriage, aren't there? Nope. Massachusetts allows gay marriage for the moment, but that's only due to the supreme court of that state deciding that there is no state interest in discriminating against gay people. That state is poised to write discrimination into their constitution as well. Some have domestic partnership, but it's not the same thing. And it's not portable to other states. So, like the blacks of the earlier part of the last century and before, you can travel across this great country of ours and get married and divorced while traveling down the highway. Also, since domestic partnership and marriage aren't exactly the same, people can use it as a tool to discriminate as they see fit in some situations. And the impending constitutional amendment, which I would bet money on and they (they equals the party controlling all federal government now) are already saying they are going to do so, will be used by conservatives to "legislate from the bench" (like they accuse liberals of doing) and force those states that have even weak domestic partnership laws, to count them as unconstitutional. You have to remember the conservative agenda, to enforce the rule and word of God. God hates fags, so therefore we as a country must do everything to hate them. Don't understimate what they are capable of doing to freedom in the name of freedom. It's kinda like Bill Clinton: "How do you define sexual relations?". Well, GW Bush: "How do you define freedom and liberty?". His freedom and liberty is not to have to live with people he doesn't like or that his God doesn't like.

From: someone That's like saying the people who attend an opera have a higher than average median income, or a ritsy restaurant. They do. I fail to see your logic here. Are you saying the wealthy, in order to appear genuine, should have the opera in a back alley? You assume the average income of homosexuals was high because of the location of the expo. It is much more likely that the location of the expo was based on the average income of the homosexuals. Ha, like we could have an Expo at the HoJo. We do control the country and we will cripple you when we feel like it. You have demonstrated time and again that you are incapable of managing your own biology. Reproduction is out of control and must be regulated. We gave you a chance at self-regulation and you failed. We gave ou opportunities to take care of your own kind via adoption and you have refused. Live birth and adoption are basically the same thing. By placing strict regulations on live births and limiting them only to government run breeding camps, we can offer a more controlled setting for child adoption. People can still get a child, there will just be a few more steps. It's not that big a deal. We can end child abuse, abortion, and crack babies. The world will be a more glorious place. By placing children with approved parents we can ensure more active parental participation in the education process. By distributing children racially, we can work together to end race discrinimation. Eventually, through carful breeding, we will be able to create a single race. These changes will make the world better. End world suffering! Support regulated breeding!

From: someone EDIT: Does this mean I'm gay, if I haven't bred? It could just mean you are a responsible heterosexual. Remember, gay adoption wouldn't be in issue if you breeders would just take care of your own. Honestly, if you didn't breed uncontrolably and then refuse to take responsiblity for your offspring and the offspring of your fellow heterosexuals, there wouldn't be children without families and thus no chance of them being adopted by evil homosexuals. Stop Gay Adoption! Support Government Regulated Breeding Camps!

Well, I thought it might have something to do with low self esteem and getting pregnant to compensate for lack of feeling whole.
My campaign will be : CIGARS FOR EVERY INTERN!! :
