I had a camper on my land once. He set up a tent in my front yard, and then when i asked him to move, he protested and claimed he had every right, as i had spare prims. I've since stopped renting my house, and taken up camping. Would you be angered if someone setup a tent on your land? My tent is 4 prims, and, as i move often, i have had no complaints so far.

Don't get angry. Just set your land to auto-return other people's objects after 5 minutes, and he'll move on right away.

I (think) there should be a sim that charges entrance, but is a camping sandbox.That'd be cool.

It went downhill fast around may after LL stopped supporting fully themed sims.

I'm going to rob liquor stores, because they have spare money... I'm going to steal people's clothes, because they have spare ones... I'll set up camp on someone's lawn because they aren't currently using the spot.

All kidding aside, I would be quite angry if someone left anything on my land for a long period... but since I've always had my land set autoreturn, its never been a problem.

Camping on someone else's land means that you're taking resources from someone who has paid for it. You're leeching off the land that someone else has paid for. If you want resources to use for yourself, pay for it like everyone else. Don't be parasite.

I toyed with the idea of scripting a winnebago and living in the vehicle sims

And the last big project I was hired for, I set up a trailer, hammock, and a few empty bottles of beer around the place - then again I also did most the building wearing a 'wifebeater' T shirt and jeans that had my 'male cleavage' showing from under the ol tool belt.

Simple solution: Make your land no-build. Thats it.

If I can ever figure out a way to make money off of this game I'm going to turn around and invest it all back into the game to get an island so that I can create a world for all to enjoy..And I'll have a big lot for these campers!mwua ha ha

I had a squatter camp set up in the canyons of Oak Grove back around the time version 1.2 rolled out. I had a cover set up in the canyon that worked out nicely, mosquito netting, trash barrel fire and some stumps to sit on. I was pretty proud I had a place on Linden land to be able to call home for a short while. It lasted about three weeks before the eviction came in the form of my items being returned.

Right now I have a little campground on the East side of the road in Cartmel. Its close to the middle of the sim, maybe 40m off the road. If you decide to go look for it, look for the clump of tall trees. I have a little cave there, a shelter and a firepit. Its only a 512m, so not a lot of prims left for people to steal the resources from me. Everyone is welcome to make a pit stop there on your excursions up to the Hidden Lakes region. But as with all campgrounds, leave it cleaner than you found it.

Damn. I was hoping this was a thread about an Airstream convoy. Robbed again.

I had a guy build a cabin on my land a while back. I just IMed him and said build whatever you like, but to bear in mind it can't stay forever. he said ok, continued to build and it was gone in a couple days.

The three slideouts work, but it's just too cramped to live in

My land goes by the Wal-Mart camping policy: Inform me that you're camping, don't make a mess, and don't stay too long. I reserve the right to evict anyone at any time for any reason.

Uh, the RL version retails for L$179,995.

I haven't thought of selling these in SL yet, but I'd be happy to pass you the current version for free so you can fiddle around with perhaps hollowing out the prims more efficiently than I did!

Stephen - your welcome to camp on my land in Furu, just IM me so I can make you a part of the group as I have autoreturn set - but I think the idea is cool and I'd be willing to set up a pretty little camp ground for you (and other campers) with trees, a camp stove and a picnic bench.

All I ask is that you clean up after yourself and not leave any prims around after you leave.

As Promised - a wilderness place to camp. To locate it, go to places and find Karuna Kamp.

The Gator dosen't bite (much) and he will share fish.

Also there are several fruit trees, a BBQ, a fire pit and a hammock.

How about we come up with a standard symbol for properties that are camping-friendly? Something like a one- or two-prim campfire?

Vehicles don't use land prims. So the RV would be perfect for camping around SL.
Just park it on a spot.
Sure the land owner can still eject you or ban you. But at least you're not using somebody else's prims and it's also a way of avoiding the no build settings.

Occupied vehicles don't use land prims. Parked ones do.
