Open your regular 1.0 client and try to connect. It will tell you that you need to download an update, which will be 1.1.

If you're having trouble updating, you can download the new installer manually by going to Downloads->Second Life in the menu bar of this website.

If you're still trying to use the Preview, don't, we shut it down since 1.1 is up and running on the production world.

Ver 1.1 does not work for me

I told you guys before when I tried the preview, that it crashed as soon as I opened the program. and sure enough today, it updated correctly, but when I tried to open it, BOOM!
Big surprise, it CRASHED. so just incase, I downloaded the installer directly, and installed form IT. Again CRASH on open.
so i went and rebooted, closed all background programs or "processes" that I could and guess what CRASH ON OPEN.

i can only hope that this is not only happenimg to me, becuase maybe you'll actually fix it now

Darque - are you running version 3.8 of the ATI drivers? (this is the latest version) If not, try upgrading.

No, we probably won't see that this year.

Darque, I hope that sucks... all you can do is send them your crash dumps and hope they can find the issue I guess...

I have a Mobility radeon 9000 on a sony viao.

ati on there site say to go to manfature for updates

Sony has no updates

ver 1.0 worked fine with out the update

First I recommend backing up your video drivers and being familar with safe mode and how to get in it before you even read the rest of this post.

Ok now www.guru3d.com under Radeon section of downloads (this link may not work) has a file called D-Force MobileMod which will look at the driver inf file and see if it supports mobile chips, and if it doesn't then it will add the necessary keys. That makes it sound like it would then be able to install for mobile chips.

I can offer no gaurantees that it will work at all. I am an nvidia fanboy more or less - 4 computers in front of me all with nvidia cards. As two of them are laptops though I can understand the video driver release lag (or no new releases at all) issue. I found out fairly quickly that for my nvidia geforce2go card I could use the "Geforce 2 Integrated" driver. There may be a similar solution for radeons.
