In another thread, Phaylen Fairchild said that while she was out of SL, she lost everything in her account, even though she had one of the beta lifetime account. As an owner of one of those accounts, I am curious why her items, L$ balance, etc, would not be preserved. I can understand land going away if tier is not being paid on it beyond the 4096m included with the account, but the rest of it makes no sense. Is there some length of time beyond which a lifetime account becomes inactive, and then deleted? It seems she had to even struggle to get her name back.

I will bet it was more a mistake than a policy.
Have you put this in the Hotline to Linden forum?

What does the first name that Jarod Godel mentioned in his thread about new names mean anyway? The name is "Bukkake". Does that have something to do with how Jarod Godel described how to use GLintercept to acquire textures created by other people in Second Life?

Before 1.2, your account was marked inactive if you didnt log on for 30 days, regardless of what membership you chose. Since you didnt pay for your land with real money, and LL didnt grant you rights over anything, you were just taking up valuable space. Wizgamer Lefay once had his stuff wiped as well.

I don't think it can be 30 days now. I often go more than 30 days without logging in. And despite the fact that half the reason I don't play any more is because months and months of work and bought items randomly disappeared from my inventory I'd be PISSED if the rest did for ANY reason. I have hundreds and hundreds of dollars of stuff in my inventory. I just don't see that it's LL's right to delete it after I bought a lifetime account, no matter HOW long it is between logins.
I'd definitely like to see an official answer on this one.

I said before 1.2 AFAIK they don't do that anymore, and in all fairness the last time I saw Phaylen was around december 03, when she had a really cool halloween sort of build right next to my mall in Blue.

Well, when 1.2 first arrived it did not initially feature the new billing system. They gave us about a month to transition to the new system. I'm not pointing a gun at anyone, you can go ask the lindens, im just trying to help.

I dont think it's been asked here, but I did find an interesting post in the archives that categorically states that lifetime accounts will NOT be nerfed, nor their stuff deleted, like, ever. If that position hasn't changed, then I'm guessing Phaylens issue was an 'accident', which like most LL accidents will draw a basic response of 'tough shit', if any response at all.
