I see the sounds in my inventory. Do I just click on then to make the sound? Is it save to say that my curser (sp?) should be in the chat box?

I put a picture in my profile the other day (from help on this boad) But when I looked at my profile it was gone. Each time I log in do I have to add it or did I do something wrong.

Last for now. How do you see in the dark. I just left a sec. ago because it was too dark to see.

I have always had sound issues, so I will pass that part to someone else.

When you add your profile pic, be sure to click "OK" instead of just closing your profile.

You can force daylight whenever you want. First enable your debug menu by pressing these keys together; alt+ctrl+shift+d. Then force day by pressing alt+n.

Well to play the sound you can just double click it; or do you want an object to play it?

The prelude doesn't have hardly any focus at all on sounds, Misnomer.

I did do it. It is the only way in that I know of for a fist timer.
I also read both PDR files. (download to HD) Both need a lot more information added.

I remember Prelude Island and it is the most basic of tips to get a new player on their way. The slightest "advanced" skills are neglected. I enjoyed Prelude and spent a long time there, but I am glad it did not cover the advanced stuff. It would have got old and thats what "in world" classes are for anyway ;)

It really amazes me that many are so anxious to get into world that they dont even go through the initial training. These folks really stick out like a sore thumb, too bad once you leave Prelude, there is no going back.

The objects on Prelude should know if the person didn't complete the last task, and shouldn't allow them to go ahead. There really needs to be protection from newbs that just skip ahead and then think they'll be okay. I've met so many newbies who are like "i 10 mins old, what do i do now?" and I can't really spend all the time teaching them everything they missed on prelude when there are other new users who want help also.

Anyone remember how Jessie was originally an extra Prelude sim? Can we PLEASE have a sim added to the world that is like that? Maybe, like, right near the welcome area. The Lindens can even add a JUMP site to it at the WA! :)

Sorry for all the ranting in this post, I just woke up and I'm still a little confused...is this my laptop or yours?

my question wasnt related to the sound question, sorry. I asked because the profile avatar (read picture) IS addressed there. Ive run into noobs who've skipped it and then run around asking very basic questions. Prelude is there to address those. There was no prelude when I started and when Jessie was a prelude for old timers to see, I did it and learned things I never knew from the corral. I agree with James. Noobs should not be allowed to skip it.
My apologies if you did do it. I was just asking a question. Not making any accusations.

No Problem. I might have skiped some of Prelude without knowing it with lag, learning to walk and fly I would move father that I thougt I would. Now I wich I could go back and spend some time at Prelude. Maybe in v 1.2 they will have
safegaurds in place to make sure you do everything that you are ment to do.
