start a new thread the way you normally do by typing a message.
at the very bottom of the window is an option to "Post a Poll."
check the box, type the number of options you will enter, and press submit.
the next screen will have a text field for your poll question and a field for each response.
there are several options such as allowing people to see who has voted and whether people wil vote with radio buttons or checkboxes.
