When will the rating system be upgraded

Not to beat a dead horse (or click a ghost prim), but what's the latest news on the plan to overhaul the rating system? People have been critical of it as long as I can remember.
In all fairness, I like the extra dough I get each week, and it's great to log in and find
From: someone

so and so has rated you positivly: "Nice-whatever-it is!"


...but I also understand how people find it too simplistic and prone to missuse. Will it change? If so, when and how?

Destroy it. Eliminate dwell, ratings and stipedends. Problem fixed. Heck, format c: will do it too. Oh, and you are beating the dead horse, and doing a fine job at it too.

There would be a lot of avies living in cardboard boxes if they get rid of the ratings. I know over half my ready cash comes from rate bonus.

Seriously, I doubt anytime soon that the systems is gonna get changed. If it were to, I'd be totally surprised. I tend to ignore the current system that is in place. People here seem to be counting every little penny, and crying about a problem that has been around for a while. So what?

This horse has been bloodied so many times, over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over, that its pathetic! Soon enough, it'll all die down again, and then later, someone will take out the stick, and start the beatings all over again. Poor horse. :(

I guess its in vogue right now. Since the dhrama levels in the forums are at incredible lows, people gotta go on about something.

Thats the thing, either destroy it, and have people live by different means, OR live with it, and stop the inscesant whining. Hmm, if I were LL, bug fix or ratings systems... Hmmmm... Stability or rating systems hmm.

Besides, in game, my RL g/f makes L$250-2000 in SL and she does not create anything! She doesn't host, she doesn't script, nada, nuttin... Heck, she doesn't even notice the Linden Welfare check. I'm both impressed and proud of the fact she can do that.

In the main Reputation thread, Robin says that a major overhaul and instalation of a new reputation system isn't likely in the next 6 months, but that some near-term changes will be proposed shortly.
