Forgive me if this has already been mentioned before, but I see in the announcements that the Lindens are recruiting for a Liason located in Europe or Australasia, so I assume that we're now moving towards 24hr Liason coverage, which is wonderful news. Being Grimmied in the welcome area while California sleeps is now hopefully a thing of the past! Thank you, Lindens. p.s. It's always amusing trying to guess the identity of a new liason, given that LL are always amenable to hiring from the player base, but this will give it an extra piquancy

So how does working for LL as a Liason change our inWorld status?
Are we able to continue all our inWorld projects - groups, businesses, etc. etc?
Any information would be appreciated.

We're not at 24/7 yet, but we're hoping to keep moving in that direction. A liaison who can be available during peak hours for Europeans and Australians will be a big help!
As far as being a Linden employee is concerned, these are the rules with respect to maintaining your non-Linden account:
* you cannot transfer L$ into your alt account * you will not be eligible for dwell bonuses or developer incentive awards * you cannot trade L$ on any 3rd party exchange * you cannot hold office in any SL groups (although it's fine for you to be a member) * you should not divulge any privileged information to anyone, including another Second Life resident, such as feature development plans, when new land is going up for auction, marketing or promotional plans, or information about any other resident * you should not participate in any contests * you may not purchase land in any auctions, although you may purchase land from other players

And not transfer L$ into your alt account - from the Linden account, right? Or NO transfers of any kind from any source? Do i have that right?

Known this for a while, basically if you're a big earner in SL, you have to weigh the wage you get from being a liason against what you earn in SL.

From: billy Madison When is the european linden going to start? Presumeably when they get a suitable number of resumes, do interviews, make their selection and send an offer, and the offer is accepted. As this job description only went up a few days ago, I'd give the process a few weeks yet.

Merwan, probably the best thing to do if you have a business is to give your partner the right to handle all the L$ conversions. You're right -- you would not be allowed to trade on GOM or IGE, with your Linden or any other account. The transfer of L$ refers to the ability to add L$ into the system. So you, as a Linden, couldn't 'create' money and put it into your non-Linden account.
Lisse - you're right. We're still getting resumes in. We need to screen them, interview several, make a decision and an offer, have it accepted, and *then*... a new liaison will be born.
