Wants in SL

These are some of the things I really want in SL:

1. An inventory that is easier to organise and the ability to move more than one item at a time i.e. block your selection and move. Plus that the folder into which you are moving items doesn't automatically open up.

2. The ability to try on clothes before I buy. Surely there's a way, a script or something, that would allow you to try on the clothes which return to the vendor in, say, 15 seconds - enough for you to see if a) you like it on you and b) the seams actually match. I have a pile of clothes that will never be worn.

3. A dream wish would be to have a personal shopper - you give them an idea of what you are wanting to buy - they go searching and then bring it to you. Personally I think its worth paying good money for this service. I drag myself from mall to mall and invariably come away empty handed. The malls are massive and sometimes the content would fit into a 512 sqm space. Why such massive malls?

4. When I carefully position an item to edit it, i want to retain that view but it changes and takes you off in a different direction. I believe there is a ctrl click but can never remember. I want the position I chose to remain.

5. Back on malls or shopping villages - it would be great if you could be given a notecard on arrival, which tells you the location of the shops. i.e. in Rose, which I love, it would be good to get a grid ref of which shops are where.

6. I have been on the hunt for some anim balls for some time, without success. I don't want sex balls and I don't want them attached to furniture. I'm looking for ones where you can relax full length on a couch you might have made etc etc. I have given up searching but if anyone knows of a place where these can be bought - please let me know - thanks.

I would like some kind of online shopping catalogue, with everyones warez in it, that way instead of struggling to tp to Umber for an hour, i could simply browse and buy online

I am in the final stages of writing documentation and testing this with multiple anims. Because I'm working with a talented animator, this will probably be sold per-copy at first, but eventually will wind up free.

A personal shopper is no problem...
Fidning a trusthfull one is a problems tho...the chances are great someone will run off with your money. (depending how much you give them..the higher the amount , the higher the chance he/she will run off with your money)


Well one of my wishes would be that Linden Labs would devide SL into zones...instead of one big huge land.

The zones wouldn't give you such terrible lag.
Because your computer only has to load the objects in that certain zone.
Wich also doesn't take as much downstream as it does now...
(for all those poor europeans out there with a limit on their downstream like me)

And as for furniture with normal sit animations , go check out sky design furniture.

Really nice furniture...wich you can nicely just sit in it and relax.

Raphael Rutherford at Paradise Island can probably help with that one. He is making one for the sacrificial bed on top of my pyramid, just as you describe. Also, if you remember the lounge chairs I have at the beach, they were also made by Raphael. Talk to him, I am sure you can work something out with him (as far as getting the script).

On my own part, I'm working on a system for merchants in my own mall to do this, and at least one other team is working on one that will be worldwide.

Neat idea, but some of us like to make our shops fun, and if people could get my stuff without ever going to my land, then I may as well tier down to minimum, buy 16sqm of land and stick one ugly vendor on it and stuff everything into it.... cuz hey, who's ever gonna see it?

Or perhaps, open a mall that is full of nothing but rows of people's one-prim vendors? Wow, suddenly my little 1024sqm plot can accomodate almost 300 people's vendors! Who cares if it looks good? I'll just make them all look like plywood cubes all in a row.... cuz hey, who's ever gonna see it?

Sorry my sarcasm meter is rising. Hee.

The only problem I see is that some of the malls (Centreville for example) and content creator lands (Abbotts Aerodrome*, etc) depend on the dwell that shoppers generate to survive... and if they never had to go there, then they would crumble... and a lot of content creators would be in trouble.

I don't mean to be a party pooper. Heh, I own a shop, and I put a lot of effort into making it look cute and fun, and making it totally unique build in SL, so when people come they get a snicker out of walking into a NOT enormous (Wink wink) bird aviary. When ask around, people come to my place to look at my avatars, not to look at my aviary, most of the time. But they come away from there talking about the aviary more... and that's what I like to hear, I consider the aviary a bigger accomplishment than my avvies. And I'm proud that people get to see it. :>

As a compromise, I would like to suggest the ability for this online catalog viewer to show off what you have, but not force you to sell online, still allowing the seller to refer people to their shop instead.... It would allow vendors to advertise their works legitimately without needing to resort to naughty things like advertising in events or in the WA, etc.

* - I am not quite sure if Abbotts really belongs in this category as Cubey among others *do* have many vendors outside of Abbotts sim.

PS: If there *is* another giant bird aviary aroudn I would love to know about it. Always ready to meet my fellow not-enormous birds. :>

Interesting idea.

FYI Abbotts Aerodrome does not depend much on dwell. Never has. I think I average around L$8 per day from it.
