incoming audio streams.... ARGH!

Is it my imagination or has the number of audio streams I have downloading after almost any flight from a telehub to my destination increased recently? I seem to regularly have 50, 100 or more streams... and regularly log out just to escape the associated lag (or at least escape the delay in downloading things I actually want to see, insignificant little things like walls and doors!)

Why can't people use sounds considerately?

Is v1.4 going to solve this or shall I just keep on moaning to anybody that will listen?

Sound priority and queueing is supposed to be fixed in 1.4. There will also be a 'local sound' option for land that won't let any inside sounds out, or outside sounds in, which should help as well.

i just hope that we can turn sound OFF to the point that we DON'T download ANY audio streams AT ALL.

Yes, Khamon, that is fixed in 1.4. As far as I can tell nearly the entire audio system has been replaced. It sounds better, there are more toys (like streaming audio) and it all is much smoother in downloading and playback. Much smoother.
