We're aware that there are log-in problems. Please be patient and try again. The combination of peak usage, people waiting all day, and the need to convert inventories is creating a bottleneck.
Thanks for your patience!

Thanks for the update, Robin -- although it might help to sticky and bigbold a thread like this, or if you could, broadcast a global message to all Residents on the Forums. I feel this would help cast a wider net of communication.

From: Torley Torgeson Thanks for the update, Robin -- although it might help to sticky and bigbold a thread like this, or if you could, broadcast a global message to all Residents on the Forums. I feel this would help cast a wider net of communication. I think Robin should record a sound clip that says something like, "Hey! We KNOW you are having trouble logging in right now; calm down and go get some dinner or a snack or whatever and come back in about half an hour and THEN try to login! Yeesh." And then have forums set up so that anybody who clicks on any forum thread hears it booming out of their computer headphones or speakers.

I have been able to log in twice, but then the client gets stuck at "no responding".
I can hear my land's streaming music, but that is about it.
Oh well, patience is a virtue.

From: Aces Spade i am not complaining about it.. i just got home from work and was excited i am cool I know, I know... but don't you think it would be just bizarre and entertaining to actually have sound clips of Linden voices played at random clicks on the forum threads? Eh? EH??! *sigh* Nevermind, I'm ranting.

Same exact behavior here. Now I just get: "Unable to connect to Second Life. Despite our best efforts, something unexpected has gone wrong....." I know its busy - and continuing to try. But on the off-chance this behavior is an anomoly - just wanted to say something

well, I like the new picture on the login screen and the pulsating status bar is interesting. So far that is all I have seen of 1.6

Hmph. According to "Friends Online", every single person in my contact list has made it in and is online now.... That just blows....

so, do we get credit to our accounts for this time that we are unable to log in?
yes, yes, I know, keep trying...
but three fucking hours is pushing it... this is starting to turn into a big joke...
I log in, I get the message, I try again, the client stops responding and will not respond for the next 10 minutes of trying to log in.
did they not forsee this problem beforehand and attemt to do something about it? or did they just say, "Fuck it, let them deal with it and then we can laugh and giggle when they get pissed off and post about it on the forums."
ya, ya... patience... I know... well, patience ended 2 hours ago...

I don't think they saw it coming because in the preview, chris kicked everyone out and told them to log back in at the same time, no delay or anything at the login. And if you weren't at the preview grid during the stress testing you have no right to complain, BTW: I WAS there.
