A Doom movie - without Doom

http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=20044Yes, there is (finally!) going to be a Doom movie. Unfortunatly, that movie will have nothing to do with DOOM, demons, or anything to do with hell. It will also have nothing to do with Mars. No, it will take place on Earth, where SWAT teams will battle against people who have been mutated into monsters due to some mysterious virus. Why bother with producing this film when they can just take Resident-Evil and slap "DOOM" on its cover with a cheap Office-Depot sticker?

Doom = popular = cash in. Seems simple enough... kinda like the I, Robot thing.

Well ofcourse.
But you would think that the fans who made Doom popular would expect that the movie called Doom will actually be about, say, Doom.

I said it before in another thread. Whenever Hollywood gets ahold of a video game franchise, they ignore the source material, and crank out a steaming pile of movie.

I really really *REALLY* hope they don't screw this one up. Granted, Doom 3 was a kick arse title, and I enjoyed every last minute of it (especially if you can immerse yourself in the environment; it can really give ya a hellish nightmare).
I hope the same type of environment can be applied to the movie!
Doom=my god.
