Pardon my ignorance, but what's the deal with the Luna sim? When was the last lottery for the plots?

It was a while back now. The current tenants have it till, umm, like the 24th or 26th... My g/f said something about that this morning, just can't remember :P Some of the plots were raffles, some were through auction.

The move in date for the winners of the last set of auction and lotteries was August 24th, 2004. Not exactly sure why a new one hasn't been done yet. :(

Believe Luna plots are now for 3 months instead of 2 so done quarterly now.

Don't forget everyone, there are lots of public malls out there! :D And some of them are A LOT cheaper than Luna, and don't require you to own a land tier! :cool:

i'll be suprised if they process more than one more lottery. maybe they'll just go ahead and take it down. here a cross post from my reply in loki's zoning thread:

it is true that luna is rather dismal these days but i believe ll consider that a good thing. they showed the player base an example of how to construct a mall sim and the idea took off like a shot. the differences are that mall rent is paid in lindens rather than tier, and the lindens don't advertise luna. but that's all cool. it was only ever supposed to be a model just like lindenworld, darkwood, deharo, boardman and new albion.

Luna is pretty, but the first time I visited, my gut reaction was: "where are all the shoppers?"

Has Luna run its course? There are plenty of shopping sims / malls / areas all over the world now. Maybe its time to turn Luna into something else since its nearly always empty. Maybe a club or a casino? There aren't enough of those! :-)
