I recently bought a book titled The Guide to Laughing at Love: Insightful Observations to Share, and I decided to start a thread for everyone to add some observations/anecdotes/quotes/etc., so others can also laugh at love (especially so near to Valentine's Day). Here are some of the observations from the book:
"Love is the triumph of imagination over intelligence." - H. L. Mencken (1880 - 1956)
"Love is a perky elf dancing a merry little jig and then suddenly he turns on you with a miniature machine gun." - Matt Groening
Garth: "What do you do if every time you see this one incredible woman you think you're gonna hurl?" Wayne: "I say, hurl. If you blow chunks and she comes back, she's yours. But if you spew and she bolts, it was never meant to be." - From the movie Wayne's World
And from the section on Lines for Men... "Nothing worth knowing can be understood with the mind. Everything really valuable has to enter you through a different opening." - Woody Allen in Manhattan

Some more observations : "Better to have loved and lost a short person than never to have loved a tall." - David Chambless "I think I could fall madly in bed with you." - Jimmy Williams "Love is like a superb disease, shameful when it isn't shared." - Francoise Sagan "Love is not only blind...it is deaf, mute, retarded, with learning disabilities and down-syndrome." - my best friend
