I don't think there will be that many lawsuits this time.

The more the night goes and the vote gaps get larger and larger, the more I think 2000 was a fluke and that it did not represent what we should expect in 2004 and beyond. The year 2000 was sort of a "wake up call" about how important every vote is.
But I really don't think we're going to see weeks or even days of legal wrangling this time. My belief is that within 24 hours Kerry is going to concede. NBC quoted him as saying if on election night, his loss is clear, especially in the popular vote, he would concede. I don't know if HE said the thing about the popular vote or if they were paraphrasing him.
2008 will be an interesting year... Who's going to run against Hillary?

Guiliani, I hope. I agree with the lawsuits. Kerry can't challenge Florida period, seeing as even with his claims for recount, he still has too much of a gap that he still loses... he CAN challenge ohio... we will have to see what happens.

I just hope it ends - I don't want to stay here till 2am like I did 4 years ago..
Personally I think things would be a LOT simpler if they just shut the f*ck up until they count the votes, get the numbers and publish it.. but then I guess the talking heads wouldn't be able to sit and sound important.
Siggy.

By the way, if Guilini runs against Hillary... perhaps NY would turn into a swing state?
Wow... even just saying that is shocking.

Cleveland is 100% in and franklin county is 96% in. The rest of the counties are pretty much Bush counties and Bush's lead is still over 100k. Looking like Bush has a large enough margin that there will be no recount. The lead would have to dip below about 13k for that.

Yeah... him converting NYC from a city plagued with drugs and crime, to a prospering urban stronghold of the US... I'm sure everyone has good reason to hate him.

No --they loathe him for the jack-booted exploitive thug he happens to be. Don't even attempt to tell me how NYC really feels about Giuliani.

You know, it's time for someone to open the way for a woman president - and being party to a lot of video that you never see on the air - Hillary is pretty damn kick ass.. She definately stands by her guns.. I could think of a lot worse ladies running for the big chair - and I'm hard put to find many more qualified... and with the bonus of previous experience to boot. And on top of it all - I'd be damn funny for Bill to be 'First Lady'... and if she got someone to go down on her in the Oval Office - even better. Siggy.

I thought after 9/11 they wanted to change the laws to elect him to another term!? I'll need to check my news scrapbook on 9/11 stuff... I distinctly remember him making a speech asking New Yorkers not to change the law to make him able to serve another term.

Please don't speak in place of others. My sig other is from NYC and supports Giuliani. That said, I personally don't. I just find presumptive rhetoric poisonous.

From: Aaron Levy The more the night goes and the vote gaps get larger and larger, Funny, CNN just added Ohio (in which their numbers show the gap getting slightly smaller) to the "Too Close To Call" list. We won't know the results for at LEAST 6 more hours, if not several days.

That's funny, I just saw it say that the margin is GROWING within the remaining precincts.

Actually, the margin of victory just grew from 123,000 to 128,000 in the last couple of minutes.
